And I admire him for toughness and finishing the game. He looked better than expected.
@SteveLuke posted:Yes very odd A. Rodgers has not gotten the ball once on the jet sweep this season.
They used that play with castoffs and slow as molasses Lazard in past years ... to good effect.
That play was almost a staple of the offense back when Ervin was on the team.
I, too, think that could be an effective play using Amari in that role.
But what do I know?
I don't think the Packers are opening up their entire offensive playbook 5 games into the season. I think they are prioritizing division games followed by conference games. Wouldn't be surprised to see some wrinkles this week against the TBSS.
++++++ LB, Campbell turning out to be a huge FA steal.
++++++ K. Clark back to being a beast.
Lazard isnβt βslowβ, you donβt lose a tenth of a second for every year youβre in the nfl, guarantee he still at least runs 4.55. The difference between him and Adams, afa athleticism goes, is that 3cone, itβs him being a leggy 6β 5β long strider. Running the jet sweep to him occasionally is a great way to keep defenses honest with his motion, otherwise they wonβt respect or adjust when he moves. Same with running that TE screen. Itβs a bumbling play that either goes nowhere or catches defenses ignoring the TE. Force defenses to account for everyone and not tee off on Adams/Jones. It has a place in the playbook. By the same token if you only give Amari 5 snaps a game and run that jet sweep to him twice a game then itβs never going to work. They will run him on decoys until someone is napping and he will break one.

Even so, I still maintain it was his best game! :-)
+ Cincinnati is a great place to go watch a football game. They have DORA at the banks district where they allow you to walk around the area with a beverage as long as it is in a properly marked cup and on game day they have the streets blocked off and have plenty of beer tents selling 16 oz beers for 5 bucks. They even have craft beers. They also have live bands and a big screen tv on the Reds stadium.

You make a good point π
We're not seeing as much of the playbook as we were this time last year because half of our OL was remade on the off-season and we've got what. one preferred starter still in place? two? I've lost track with all the shuffling. MLF's offense requires a lot of OL communication and coordination, especially with AR. Probably also why we've seen stretches of play calls that look "odd".
Matt said that he purposely held back on some plays that they have. As long as we win, I donβt care. Perhaps when the team is closer to full strength and/or we really need them, then he might try a few.
PFF scores mostly confirm what the rest of us saw, Davante Adams out of this world, #12 and the RBs very good, Tonyan in a bit of slump, Lazard not good at all, and ESB reminding us yet again that he should not have been on the roster ... in 2020 or 2021.
2. TE Marcedes Lewis, 89.4
3. QB Aaron Rodgers, 79.5
4. RB A.J. Dillon, 72.2
5. RB Aaron Jones, 70.8
2. RT Billy Turner, 59.2
3. C Lucas Patrick, 50.6
4. WR Allen Lazard, 48.7
5. WR Equanimeous St. Brown, 43.5
Defensively, Kenny Clark really does do it almost all by himself along the defensive line, Slaton yeesh and Lancaster who knew scores went that low? Campbell has just been unbelievable, Gary played better than apparently most thought and King was hardly mentioned until he got injured because he must have been playing well - or at least was not as inviting a target for Cincy as Stokes. A day to forget for Savage or at least one very consequential play to forget.
1. DL Kenny Clark, 80.3
2. LB DeβVondre Campbell, 79.3
3. CB Kevin King, 76.2
4. OLB Rashan Gary, 71.0
5. OLB Jonathan Garvin, 69.7
Worst:
1. CB Isaac Yiadom, 51.3
2. OLB LaDarius Hamilton, 44.3
3. DL TJ Slaton, 39.8
4. S Darnell Savage, 37.9
5. DL Tyler Lancaster, 30.1

Yes it is. I was there for it and it truly was a Lambeau South game. I know where I was sitting my area was easily 2/3 Packers fans.
Positives:
A W and I FINALLY have seen a team from Wisconsin win in Ohio. I have seen the Packers 4 previous times in Cincy and they were 0-4. So it was great to see a win.
The defense except for one or two plays played pretty well. In person King played way better than usual, Clark was disruptive, and Campbell is the real deal in the middle.
Adams was doubled probably 50% of the time and he still abused the Bengals secondary
Packers fans were LOUD. When the Packers came out on the field and went to the bench many saluted us with helmets in the air it was very cool to see.
Negatives:
I probably don't need to mention Crosby

Well, they have played every available DL they have on the squad. It's not like they have a healthy guy that played pretty well in the preseason but they keep on the inactive list.
All 3 of the DL not named Clark played well last week. Not sure if they are improving or if Cinci has a dogshit OL.
while 93 did show up on the stat sheet, i did count a handful of times where he was waltzed back 5-10 yards...so he needs to be better with the anchor for a guy that big.
LaFleur says the missed FGβs were not all on Crosby. He wouldnβt go into detail. Does that mean itβs LS Hunter who wasnβt doing his job? Or the blocking was poor? Guesses?
