So what's the over/under on how many times we hear about Jolly's story
during game broadcasts this year?
Don't get me wrong, I think it's great. Congrats, Johnny! I thought the odds
were pretty daunting, but you did it. Here's hoping that the rest of your career
will be so great that your story will become yet another Green Bay legend!

The first game of the season is not a playoff game. It does not matter if they lose 47 to nothing.
being facetious but recent history shows the first game is actually important to the packers.
we barely beat philly and vick on the first game of 2010 - went 10-6 and barely made playoffs (and won a sb). point is that the pack doesn't make the playoffs if we don't win in philly.
we started out well, barely beating the saints at lambeau the following year (thanks cobb for that return) - 15-1 regular season.
we didn't do well last year at lambeau against niners and got beat again in the playoffs by the same team (albeit different players).
The players have been preparing for this game like it's their SB (just like SF did last year). I think it's more important than we are willing to admit.
For Jolly to have been where he's been and come back to an NFL team and have an impact, he deserves to be spoken about. This doesn't happen very often in the NFL.
It'll be nice to have another big body to rotate in with Pickett and Raji and I think it'll go a long way towards stopping teams like SF and SEA on the ground.

Would be great to see the guy get 20 snaps in the opener and slowly increase that as the season goes on. As well as he played in the preseason he just might be the JJ of old when he gets into proper condition.
He was a man among boys against KC until the penalty. He is on a mission to succeed and I want to see him do it.
When he's in there, he makes plays. Can't ask for anything more. {Ok ok, stay away from the hood in the offseason.}One heck of a football player. And must be a great teammate since all his teammates supported him in his absence.

Jolly's the "Redemption Story" that's hyped to cliche, sure, but I rather enjoy hearing about them.
A little more detail about the NFLN item running tomorrow. The preview segments I've seen are pretty good.

It is good that Jolly got his life together both on and off of the field. I don't think it is any coincidence that the defense improved once he returned to the starting lineup.
I root for Jolly. for his sake I hope it's actually grandma's and that grandma feels better soon.
what I wanted from the story is why he was pulled over in the first place. or was he just driving down the road shaking the pill bottle like a maraca for all to see?

Easy to beat this one if he is actually a caregiver for granny and she actually has a current script.
That said, get off the opiates kids. No good things come from prolonged use.
