Likening the GB loss to NYG last year to the GB win over PIT is a strawman argument and makes no sense. The Packers played uncharacteristically bad vs. NYG while the Steelers did not play uncharacteristcally bad vs. GB. NYG may have forced some of those TO's but they didn't force receivers to drop balls and AR to overthrow an open Jennings.

While I don't ever like the "we beat ourselves" excuse either, the above analogy is just fallacy. Maybe comparing the GB win over ATL is a little more applicable.

Another thing that the PIT/NYG analogy gets wrong is the "hot team at the right time" reasoning. NYG had shown no ability to dominate anyone last year (they were just good enough to win), even in the post season and they won't dominate in 2012. In comparison the 2010 Packers weren't just hot, by late season they had finally peaked at a level they continued to play at, and even improve upon in 2011. Barring key injuries, they will continue to do so in 2012. The last thing on the list to fix is avoidig the fart game in the playoffs.

Yeah, clearly a 9-7 team that couldn't even beat the Redskins at home is the best team in the world.

I disagree with what Clay said, the Giants beat the Packers that day. But that does not at all mean they were the better team.
