No biggie, but he net would actually be 66 yards, since that is the distance the pass enters the record book as.  The gross distance the ball traveled is what everyone is talking about, which would be more than 57 yards because the field is not 1 yard wide.  Right hash to left of the left hash, calculate the hypotenuse, the gross distance the pass covered is 66 yards, which interestingly enough, is the same as the net.

Is anyone accounting for the actual random circumference yards the ball traveled? That ball didn't travel on a linear line. Not sure how we calculate the true ARC of the pass without understanding the apex. I do take it personally this is being ignored though.

Yeah, there are many stories about how the attacks went beyond football and beyond sane.

One of the saddest was the fan going to her Facebook and Twitter telling her she should "McNair" her husband for the good of the team.

I failed to consider the gravitational aspects of Green Bay, which is different than say Austin, where I live. Green Bay being closer to magnetic north has a slightly higher gravitational pull which is why people (in general) who live further north weigh more than those, (in general) who live further south. Irregardless:

Ek = (1/2)mv^2
Ek = ?
m = 0.400kg
v = 15.0m/s
Ek = (1/2)(0.400)(15.0)^2
Ek = (1/2)(0.400)(225)
Ek = 45.0J

Therefore the NFL football has 45.0 joules of kinetic energy.

delta² Eg = mg delta h
delta Eg = (0.400)(9.8)(2.4384)
delta Eg = 9.558528J
(with significant digits the answer is 9.6J)

Therefore the NFL football has a potential energy of 9.6 joules.

Lastly, the Vikes had neither Work nor Power last night.

Bigtime awesome, man!

That was cool and totally did not think to factor in the width of the field.

You need a longer pole.

Strange game. I am not sure the Viking players were ever interested in playing the Packers this week. After the Packers were up 14-0 the Packer offence really pulled back.. The 4th quater look like the 4th in the first preseason game.  Have the Queens abandon Ponder that completly to play so bad?  Or are the Queens simply a bad team?

The O-Line run blocking was really good. Quick hitters as opposed to stretch plays, some really nice creases to run through. Nice change from previous games to run with QB under center as opposed to shot-gun.

Surprised at how good the dline played. The Minny Oline is pretty decent, and they got pushed around in pass pro. What got into Guion ?? He looked like he can play - had to be a fluke.

Lattimore should be the starter until proven otherwise. Brad Jones belongs with the scrubs.

Flynn needs to be in street clothes. Yikes !!

Funny how the announcers kept saying Zimmer was trying for that last TD "for the good of the team," including that stupid TO with less than 20 seconds(?) left. And then not to score was just another dagger. Not only did Zimmer extend the game by passing on every down and calling the TO, but the TD drive was an epic failure. That's how coaches lose respect from players.

Until the rubber meets the road.  Then he performs.  How many times does that have to happen for folks to remember what he's all about?  He's going to suck in mop-up situations - he was probably already planning out what he was going to order at Applebee's after the game.

I'd rather they give the reps like the ones last night to Tolzien, although I don't even know what his status was in terms of being active/third QB/inactive.

And I thought it was only because of my thick ankles.  I've been rong all these years.

Tolzein was inactive/emergency QB yesterday which means....

  1. If they go to Tolzein, both Rodgers & Flynn MUST stay on the bench & cannot return.
  2. MM would never do that with the 3rd emergency QB

Then make Flynn the inactive/3d QB.  It's not that difficult.
