So you beat me as i was typing  Kiel.  So I deleted mine and will add this:

Can someone please tell me why Fat Albers is still on the team?  Does he have pictures of something or someone?   Davies pitches 5 shutout innings and Albers comes in and gives up a solo bomb to Bellinger and then a 2 run shot to Muncy.  Get him out of Milwaukee.

During the broadcast "Rock" kept  saying "When Albers is right that's what your going to see- plenty of ground ball outs". I'm thinking, "When Albers is Albers that's what you're going to see- plenty of balls in the outfield bleachers".

Last night anyway, Albers looked eerily similar to last year - a train-wreck. He has looked decent in several of his appearances this year, but I'm not holding my breathe.

New Pitching coach has to be feeling a bit edgy thus far.

Albers has the 4th best ERA on the team this year (not counting Jeffress and Wilkerson who've only pitched once). He may suck, but it's a staff-wide problem.

Hader 0.90

Davies 1.53

Guerra 1.54

If you throw out those 2 he's 10th in ERA. Don't think I'd throw out Wilkerson though since he pitched 4 innings, as much as a couple of other guys.

My manager (a Dodger fan) was telling me they are moving Urías to the bullpen. Imagine being that deep in your rotation that you can take someone like that out of it.

Take his body of work from last season and so far this season, including last night and he sucks. I'd have rather seen Fat Albers gone and send Burnes to the bullpen where he was great last season.

I’m sort of done with the Dodgers

They really don’t have a lot of holes in their  lineup and if the pitching is solid I expect they will be the team to beat in the NL yet again

Brewers hanging in there and competing but the pitching needs to get better.  Not that it’s anything we didn’t already know

Yeah, kind of nice to have a 200 million $ payroll.

Honest question- why not bring Keuchel and Kimbrell in? I don’t think either are unaffordable.

They need to get a lot more from the 3-6 parts of the lineup. The Yelich thing is going to ebb at some point... where’s the rest of these guys?

No reason to panic, and a good point on the schedule- two deep lineups and a staff still working things out is going to crack some eggs.

I agree. Especially on shorter term contracts.

They are 23 games into the season and their starting rotation has ERAs of 1.19 (Davies), 5.81 (Woodruff), 5.92 (Chacin), 7.13 (Peralta), and 10.13 (Burnes).

Even if Jimmy Nelson returns and is at least a league average guy, they need at least one more starting pitcher - if nothing else to move Burnes back to the bullpen. Keuchel at 3 years and 45 million seems a good investment for a team that has enough talent to contend.

Cain, Yelich, Moustakas, and Grandal have been outstanding. Braun isn't hitting for average but he's still driving in runs. Arcia is coming around and his defense is so good you can afford to have him hit .225 like he is now if you don't have a black hole in other parts of your lineup.

It's Shaw and Aguilar that they have to think long and hard about. Shaw is at 13 for 73 with 1 HR, but he's at least an average defensive player and has 4 years of production behind him. Aguilar is 9 for 66 with 2 extra base hits (both doubles) and he's not exactly a defensive standout. It's not clear why they aren't at least playing Thames at first against right-handers. The problem is that Aguilar is 1 for 20 against LEFT handers. You'd be better off playing Woodruff at first base at this point.

I also wonder if it’s about the coaching and development of the pitchers.  We all wondered what the possible impact of losing Derek Johnson and to a lesser extent Lee Tunnell would be and so far it seems like the pitchers are not hitting their spots consistently.   Hader acknowledged as much after the game.

I do think they need to strongly consider bringing in another arm and Kuechel or Kimbrell could certainly help if they would be open to shorter term deals IMO.
