When I was a resident at the Med Center I would go to the Memorial every years. I do miss columbus.

Correct, Dublin Coffman. They've had a few athletes make it to the pro level. Vince Workman who played for Green Bay, Mike Adams, Nick Goings, Brady Quinn and Chinedum Ndukwe in football, Kent Mercker in baseball and Chris Quinn in basketball. Probably some others I can't remember right now.

That sounds an awful lot like a Bob Uecker story!
Patrick Lewis - C Texas A&M:

Entertained offers from Green Bay, Pittsburgh, Miami, Washington and Cleveland shortly after the draft. Said he picked the Packers because James Campen, their offensive line coach, told him he would play center and would fight for a roster berth. Called it "heartbreaking" to say no to the Dolphins because offensive coordinator Mike Sherman and offensive line coach Jim Turner mentored him for three seasons at Texas A&M. Signing bonus from Green Bay was $4,500.

Scouts:
quote:
NFC scout: "Like him a lot. He's probably a center only so you're a little restricted by him. He's just a shorter-armed guy, but he's real stout at the point and does a real nice job in there. He's smart. He knows what to do and he's strong in the middle."

AFC scout: "We wanted him, too. Pretty solid free agent. A guy that makes your practice squad for sure."

Andy Mulumba - LB Eastern Michigan:
quote:
"I made a visit to Green Bay and fell in love with it. Kevin Greene is one of the best (coaches) at the position. It's a winning culture there. . . . I played defensive end in a 4-3 the last three years. It'll be a hard transition but I can handle it."

Scout:
quote:
AFC scout: "Like him a lot. He's an upside guy. Didn't have a ton of production but really has athletic traits, the body and the frame. He's perfectly set for the practice squad. Great kid. Unbelievably smart. Just still learning football."

Angelo Pease - RB K State
quote:
Pease: "I had a couple other teams. I talked to my agent. We came to the conclusion that this was the best fit for me. . . . I got way more potential than I showed. This offense didn't suit me at all. I'm a returner and I'm an athlete. I'm 215, I've got speed, I'm a receiving back and I'm a great blocker as well. I'm excited. I can't wait."

Scout:
quote:
AFC scout: "He has some athletic ability, feet and balance but just average speed. Shows some vision and general instincts but average inside run strength and power. Not a pile-mover. He doesn't have any dominant traits but could function and compete in camp."

Could be 3 decent additions to the roster. Patrick Lewis and Mulumba are really intruiging.

Smart people still need to learn their profession. Should a recent college graduate already have the knowledge and experience to be a doctor before entering medical school and doing their residency? Confused
