So. 2020. Crazy year huh?

Still kinda crazy! 

Will certainly get even crazier. 

But, it appears the NFL season is gonna move forward. NBA playoffs are in progress. MLB chugs along bringing Eric Sogard into my life more than I ever needed. NCAA football is doing... something. 

Given all that, it's time for a bit of sanity here at x4 n the middle of *WAVES ARMS VIOLENTLY.*  For months, we have allowed the types of threads and arguments and discussions that none of the owners really care to have here. The excuse of "well, jeez, there's like nothing else going on" was accurate for a while. That is no longer the case.

So, as we approach the 2020 season of the NFL, we wanted to once again reset where we are and clarify what Grave Digger, packerboi, and myself are looking for here.

Take your politics elsewhere.

We don't care. We don't care what side of the equation you're on. We don't care whether we agree with your perspective or not. We don't want politics here.

We don't want it blatantly. We don't want it in your special "subtle" ways that are about as subtle as a hammer to the teeth. We don't want it anywhere on the site. We don't want it in the Packers forum. Or the Lounge. Or the Bucks forum.  Or even sneaking it in to Fedya's Movies to Tivo forum. (Do people still have Tivo?)

There are plenty of sites for you to regale the world with your awesome opinions, your aggrieved complaints of the world changing around you, or your issues. However, x4 is not one of them. We will delete political content. Of all flavors. If you continue to post this nonsense, you'll be gone. If someone posts political garbage that we have not gotten to delete yet because we all have lives... Report it. Send me a PM. You don't HAVE to respond. You don't HAVE to "correct them" You don't HAVE to prove them wrong. You're not going to win Internet Points by responding at all. You really can just report it to us and we'll address it. You aren't 6 year old children that have yet to figure out that "well, they posted their political opinion so I get to express mine. Neener neener neener" is not a legitimate argument that fully formed adults make.

We've also deleted existing threads that have devolved into areas we don't want/need.  You'll survive.  

Finally, discussions of Covid are inevitable given the state of the world. And discussions of Covid inevitably lead to political back and forth. We will have some leeway if they are relevant to the topic and not straying to politics. The second they do, they will be deleted. 

We cannot be more clear here. Take your politics to Twitter or Facebook or one of the roughly 11,434,123,599 sites out there that cater to you arguing with people about opinions that will never change.

“Don’t constantly be a dick”

Easy peasy. We all have bad days and we'll allow for that. Just don't constantly and consistently be a dick.  

How does one “be a dick?” Glad you asked.

• See above. Get your ass back to Facebook and embarrass your family members that cringe at every one of your posts, and are on Facebook only to share photos of their kids with you. Because regardless of how horrible Facebook is, they'd still rather do that instead of visiting you. But, yeah, they cringe at every post you make. In other news I hope my father nevers finds this site and this bullet point. 
  
  
• Don't be an obvious and constant troll. We all know what trolling is. And even then, we let Herp and Derp run roughshod over the Vikings thread for more than a year. I mean, be smart about this. Bring some wit and charm instead of just sounding like a 14 year old boy hopped up on Red Bull and Xanax and we'll probably never notice anything. 
  
  
• Don't be mean spirited/personal. Sports by its nature lends to trash talking. Good-natured back and forth is expected (NOTE FUKK THE BEARS AND EVERY ONE OF THEIR FANS. ALWAYS), but when this is all you have to offer or it's over the top and personal... Again, it's the constant and consistent part that over time gets old. Unless it's ripping on the Bears, as there can never be enough of that. 
  
  
• Don't engage in the obvious stuff– no porn, no discussion about any TV show involving "flipping a house", no links to sites that we really don’t need to mention, no Fall Out Boy videos... Just, you know, be cool

Are the mods/owners perfect? NOPE. Are we going to delete/pull/clean up everything in whatever you deem in a “reasonable” amount of time? Almost certainly not. Are we going to delete everything that you personally think is some slight trying to make you angry? Negative. But, we'll try our damnedest to keep this place fun and interesting. 

If you see a post we should be addressing and we haven't yet, PM one of us or just report it. Not saying we'll agree with you every time, but we all have lives and partners and children and at least one of us has a massive drinking problem (I'm trying to transition more to weed though!), so we can't be monitoring 24/7/365. 

We are here to talk about the Packers and almost exclusively sports, have some fun, ignore Fedya's Movies to Tivo (unless there's a global pandemic and you have the tastes of a 97 year old shut in) shoot the shit, and ultimately be the virtual bar to argue about meaningless crap.

But, given possibly the most bizarre 6 months of most of our lives, we thought that it's time to reel it back in and talk about sports and booze or food or music or... anything but politics

If you are constantly throwing out bait or personal attacks, we’ll address. If you’re constantly posting your shitty ass political opinions, we’ll address. If you’re not being a dick all the time we’ll all get along swimmingly.
