At times I try to look at how things would be if things were reversed. If the Vikings had 13 Championships, a storied legacy, a storied stadium, decade long waiting list for tickets and the Packers had 51 years of failure, horible uniforms, a disposable stadium, and were always wondering how one team could be so blessed while the other was so incredibly cursed.

And every time I think these thoughts the best part is always that it's not that way at all and that the Vikings suck.

Why wouldn't Viking fans be confident? What I do know is that not all Viking fans think we can win this game. Ideally, if the Vikings made the playoffs its a banner year after going 3-13 last season. We have won 9 games to this point and if we don't win Sunday, who actually thought that the Vikings with Christian Ponder as their QB would have won 9 games and beat the 49ers and the Texans during the season. Reading this board all season, not one Packer fan thought it would be Minnesota in their rear view mirror at this point in the season. Most thoguht it would be Chicago then Detroit then Minnesota.

Most Viking fans I know are just happy we are playing a meaningful game in December after last years debacle. The Packers are a more talented team and I believe they are favored by 3 at the dome. That should tell you all you need to know. But the game will still have to be played, and as we found out last week when the Vikes had to go on the road and play on grass (which they are usually horrible at) in a game that meant something to both teams they came out on top. Do I expect the Vikings to win? I will only say I hope they do....but I have no confidence in Ponder in a Nationally televised game with a playoff spot on the line to come up big. I think its closer than a lot of people think...It could even come down to field goal kickers....

What a dominating performance by the Queens.

Hey, it's the score that counts. Go Vikes!
Well last year, everyone thought that the Packers would smoke them at the Dome, and it turned out to be a p-retty good game.

On another note, I do fine the "Sermon" by Greg Coleman before the game starts DAMN ENTERTAINING!!!!

Not sure about the Nate Poole TD, but it is him with the TOG INT. I love that clip!!!

They are both him.....
The fact that AP rushed for over 200 yards and they still lost does not bode well for the Vikings. Teams with that kind of run game aren't supposed to lose.

CMIII being back and having a full rotation of d-lineman will be huge. If I remember right, the first matchup had Moses starting at ROLB (ie: very poor run defender) and they had only 4 d-linemen active (Pickett, Raji, Daniels and Worthy). And Daniels is not much of a run defender at his size. Getting CMIII, Neal and possibly Wilson back makes this defense much, much better. McCarthy even mentioned that when they wanted to go with 3 d-linemen, they couldn't because they just didn't have enough players to rotate and keep them fresh.

I foresee a blowout: 34-13. Yes it's on the road, but Rodgers plays better in domes than he does at Lambeau. The defense rises to the occasion, AP does not get to 2,000 yards and Ponder can't find any open receivers.

I remember blowing a gasket over the fact that they were playing the nickle D instead of the 3-4. Felt dumb afterwards. Red Face
Tavis and Pakrz-

Unfortunately I can relate all too well. I live 10 miles from the MN border and pretty much have my entire life. I also work in MN. Of course I grew up with Minnesota media long before the days of cable, etc. I completely despise the queens and their fake fans far more than any team that has ever existed. I lost my voice in 98 when they failed yet again as I really thought that was their year, and when Favre pissed another chance away, I was absolutely giddy. And let's not forget the Giants blanking them 41-0 years ago. Paul Allen is completely clueless and fits right in with the rest of their moron fans. I hope we completely destroy them Sunday in every way!!

His stats for the game, while great, are a bit misleading. Two of his runs totaled 130 yards. That means for the rest of the game, he had 19 carries for 80 yards. Statistically very good, but not dominant. They basically didn't control the ball. Had AP rushed for only 150 but had 30-35 carries, I think the outcome of the game may have been different.

It was amazing no matter how you slice it, and it's incredible that they lost by 9 points with that kind of effort. The Packers started brining extra men down into the box on almost every single play after the long runs, and Ponder couldn't do a thing with the single coverage. Their WRs didn't even catch a pass until late in the 4th quarter.
The Packers were in the nickel the entire game due to the lack of defensive line-men. So even with the extra man in the box, they weren't really strong against the run either.

Just a very weird game all around. I can see how the Vikings feel they played better than they did (Ponder could have eaten the ball of couple of times and the game would have been closer). I can also see why we Packer fans feel the Packers dominated the game because they did in the 4th quarter...that 11 minute drive was dominance.

No it wasn't. Remember, they had this guy at QB.

Highlights from MM's Presser:

Mike Vandermause ‏@MikeVandermause
MM: Woodson been practicing for 4 weeks, working out extensively. Not concerned with his game and his readiness to play.

‏@MikeVandermause
MM: Trying to be smart with Woodson's injury. Doctor's call right now.

‏@MikeVandermause
MM: Will test Cobb tomorrow, how he responds will determine if he plays. Might know tomorrow or Saturday.

‏@MikeVandermause
MM: Crosby still under the weather, did all his on-field work, try to keep him away from other guys due to illness.

‏@MikeVandermause
MM: We're proud of all of our guys that made the Pro Bowl. Lowest number since 2008. Saturday voted in, don't apologize for anything.

‏@MikeVandermause
MM: Finley has always worked very hard, Played through significant shoulder injury. He's healthy, in good rhythm, he's in a good groove.

‏@MikeVandermause
Mike McCarthy: CJ Wilson says he feels great. He always tells me that. He looked good at practice. See what doctor says in morning.
I want Cobb active but maybe only play sparingly....and not on ST. At least if he's active, we know the extent of his injury was no too bad. If he's held out of the game, it may be like most injuries where MM gives the impression the "injury isn't too bad" and then the player is lost for 1/4 to 1/2 season!
Saturday's PB nod cost TT a $50k incentive. Jeff had that written into his contract.

I see some nice gifts being doled out to Lang, EDS, Sitton, Newhouse, Bulaga, and Barclay in the near future.

Count TT as one of those that hates fan voting.

I am starting to think this too. Hopefully this is Greg's breakout game, he's had some HUGE games at the metrudump. Of course 88 staying on pace and getting Jordy back will be great (I have a feeling they like the surface for his comeback, not as much slipping). And don't forget James 'TD' Jones.

Main concern would be Ross' ball security on STs. Who knows, maybe they would elect to use Williams back there...

Either way, I bet the boys will be pumped up BIG TIME for this one!

Just out of #Packers practice. Watched part of Cobb's test during portion open to media. A lot of cutting, footwork in short space.

Overall, Cobb seemed to move fine through drills. Circled around cones, a lot of stopping on a dime. Also ran some routes with the WR's.
