How about taking a flyer on Chiefs practice squad WR Tyquan Thornton. He's 6' 2" and ran a 4.21/4.28 in the 2022 Combine. Was originally drafted by the Pats. Not certain why he was released in his third season.

Also, Parris Campbell is on Philly's practice squad. Former 2nd Rounder who is big bodied and had some speed before PCL/MCL injury a few years back. Was a blue chipper coming out of college and has vet experience. He's oft-injured, but it's the end of the season, so is that really an issue (assuming he's healthy.

Quez Watkins is another WR on the Steelers practice squad. Has good size and also blazing speed. Another plus is a fair amount of real game experience and production to include 5 playoff games.

I doubt the Packers will look at other teams PS, rather looking in house. But I'm just throwing out names.

Is Julian Hicks still on the Packers PS? He might be called up.

That's pretty much what MLF did with Willis starting.

Yes. Run about 30 running plays with a jet sweep action (with a few handoffs to Reed). Then, run the same play, but run play action off of it and hit Reed on a wheel route when the defender stops running after him to help with the inside run.

That's the play that clinched one of the games Willis started and won.

Wicks, Bo Melton and/or Malik Heath are going to surprise. Musgrave down the seam. If MLF is worth anything. The O-Line needs to hold up especially center vs. Jalen Carter. Butkus and Stenavich better have those boys ready to play. The same shit we saw to open the game vs. Detoilet and Minnyscrota ain't gonna work.

How?

Pound the friggin rock!! Early & often. This ain't rocket surgery. Get that D-Line on its heels πŸ‘  🀭

Overall, or guys that Gutekunst would be interested in?

Luther Burden from Missouri is small and likely goes before the Packers #2.

Emeka Egbuka from Ohio State is small (ish, for Gutekunst) and likely goes before the Packers #2.

Isaiah Bond from Texas is small and doesn't block all that well.

Jalen Royals from Utah State has marginal size and blocks for shit.

Tez Johnson is tiny.

Elic Ayomanor from Stanford is step slower than the previous guys, but has the size and tenacity, and is in Sam Steele's territory.

Savion Williams is a matchup nightmare, unrefined as a receiver, and may just have good speed.

Donte Thornton from Tennessee is a Tennessee receiver: raw AF from a gadget offense and a wild swing for the fences.

Deion Burks from Oklahoma is bigger than Tez Johnson, but not by much and not as fast.

Julian Fleming from Penn State (OSU transfer) is fast and has good size, but injury history and lack of production are concerns.

Jimmy Horn from Colorado is another small, slot guy.

Christian Watson’s dad posted this today:

@NFLHitman33:   He’ll have his surgery soon, and should be back around Week 12, with a normal rehab. There’s nothing outside of what’s typical with his injury. Simple ACL and minor cleanup. He’s just doing usual pre-surgery strengthening prehab to get ahead of any post-surgical atrophy! He remains in good spirits and ready to attack this with everything he’s got!

Why the hell would you hope that?  That is a real piece of shit comment. However not unexpected from you.

Yeah, in retrospect, not wanting the Packers to PLAN on Watson being an effective WR next season or in future years is blasphemy.

I mean, who might possibly think that a WR whose greatest attribute is/was his speed (hands? route running? spatial awareness?) might not be as effective when he returns with just 1/4 of the season to play in 2025 (according to his father's estimation)? Crazy. Just PLAN on him being being as good as usual, right?

And, given that Watson will be a free agent after the 2025 season, the Pack should immediately start PLANNING to sign him to a new deal for 2026 and beyond because it is not like he's missed 13 contests entirely in his 3 seasons in GB (and exited several other games) due to injury.

Certainly the fact that Watson has caught a whopping 41, 28, and 29 passes (29 this season when he played in the most games of his career) screams out that the Pack must PLAN on Christian being a big part of their passing game after 2025.

In the end, and much like the signing of Jaire Alexander to a big deal after he sustained his shoulder injury against Pittsburgh in 2021 and the signing Rashan Gary to a huge deal after he tore his ACL in Detroit in 2022, it makes zero sense for the Packers not to PLAN on signing Christian Watson to another contract. Zero.

Good to have such a deep, thoughtful poster such as yourself around to always set the less knowledgeable Packer fans straight.

Unfortunately, I think Watson’s days in GB are numbered. Even if he’s able to come back late next year and finish the season healthy, he’s going to want to get paid in 2026 and some team will be willing to pay him more than the Packers think he’s worth. I imagine his dad will make sure he goes to the highest bidder.
