I almost feel sorry for these Bears defensive players ... no matter how well they play they have to know with this unbelievably pathetic offense it is not going to matter in the end.

And that has been the case in Chicago since about forever.

Four straight losses going into a bye week.
Gonna be some surly Bear fans in the windy city.

This is the kind of game where I really miss listening to Buffone and O'Bradovich on The Score
RIP Doug.

So maybe it's not Matt Nagy's play calling?

I really couldn't tell much difference between Nagy and Lazor, so it leads me to believe it's definitely a player issue, not a coaching one.

Edited to add the same must hold true for our DL. If the Bears could throttle Cook as they did, it's not a coaching issue. They're not doing anything special, just bringing some hard-nosed defense to bear.
We could do the same.... with better players.

Loved those guys.  The passion they had combined with a good sense of humor made then fantastic to listen to after a tough Bears loss.  I know Hampton took over for Buffone but it just wasn’t the same without Doug so I haven’t listened to them in a long time.

Buffone and OB may be ex-Bears but they struck me as pretty cool dudes.

Will be telling if these Bears can move the ball on Pettine’s defense.

Seriously, they suck, but who has "trouble" moving the ball against the Pettine Packers D (or Dom's for that matter). The issue will be whether or not the Packers can move the ball and score against the Bears' D.

No, it's definitely coaching too.  Griese was continually calling out the bunch formations that basically let the spermheads tee off in any situation.  Obviously when your QB stinks it's pretty bad but that whole offense is pathetically inept including the play calling.

We will see how Pettine's game plan creates pressure on the QB. Foles was under siege all night with what the vikings defensive pressure did to him. Can Pettine come up with a plan to have our Defense emulate that?

The Bears are just awful on offense and it doesn’t matter who the QB is.   They lack playmakers and they can’t run the ball very well.

Unless that defense is generating turnovers and forcing field position you can beat them and that’s what we are seeing now.

As for Minnesota,  they are a bit of a dark horse in the NFC but rely almost too much on Dalvin Cook.  If he goes down that team is finished but he’s such a dynamic player that he can carry them to wins despite a shaky defense and inconsistent passing game.

I saw one play where the Vikings rushed SIX. Don't expect Sleepy Pettine to do that

Could be the scheme too or at least adapting the scheme for the players you have available. They are running the same offense that Nagy put in. I think this is his chance to say to management "see, it's not me! same results!"
