The Bucks have an interesting problem- both guys are clearly too good for G league, yet can’t really break into the rotation because they’re behind too many established players.
There’s been a lot of criticism of Wilson- he didn’t exactly show out his first season. But the Bucks just extended him through the remainder of his rookie deal for a reason- he is develop. His shot look better now than his rookie season. He’s showing lore athleticism. He’s gotten stronger. He could be a contributor by next season.
Wood has further to go to his ceiling, but it’s a higher ceiling. Like most young tall guys, he’s got to continue to develop his body. But length and athleticism, as well as a developed offensive game that is starting include elements of Giannis’ game (he did a little euro step through recently that was straight out of the Giannis playbook). And like Giannis early in his career, Wood is very slightly built. Weights, and experience.
Both guys would seem to represent important future assets. Wonder who their b/u stretch 5 and 4 will be next year? Both guys could develop into the depth the Bucks need as go forward. More shooting, more athletes... get that up and down the lineup and watch Giannis really take off...
