He was running on an injured ankle almost the whole 2015 season.  His rise is really not that surprising when you look at what he did as a rookie in 2014.  Still, considering how hard it must have been on him to show the way he did in 2015, it is still impressive he was able to return to his upward trajectory.

Yep. It's why it's so important to look at the context of a bad season and why prospects, especially high picks, should be given plenty the full 4 (or even 5) years to develop.

No that's apples and oranges on Adams.  He showed his freshman year and was injured his second.  It wasn't proof he needed time to develop.  He was just injured.

The idea that where you're drafted should give you automatic "development time" no matter how badly you play is b.s.  We almost lost Reggie Gilbert to that line of thinking, to Kyler Fackrell and his esteemed 3rd round draft status, no less.

Yeah just wait.  Any year now Fackrell will dominate.  Just needs 4 years is all.

Going to keep disagreeing on this as long as you keep bringing it up GD, and no, Davante Adams isn't Exhibit A.   Fackrell is.

Some guys are late bloomers. We've seen plenty of instances in the NFL where teams just gave up too soon. Based on the investment of an early round pick you HAVE to give them time unless they look completely lost or have character issues. What's the point of investing in players if you aren't going to develop them?

Ok, I was unable to actually watch the game. After a touchdown some Packers player was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduit. Who was it and what did he do? Because after that and JKs poor kickoff the ball ended up on our 45.

If you trust your scouting process you should be willing to invest more time into a draft choice than a player you get off the scrap heap. Problem arises when you take it to unreasonable extremes, which I believe to be the case with Fackrell.

Kumerow puts himself on the shelf with an 82yd catch and bolt and gives Davis a target to aim for.

I don’t think Davis has enough game to change anyone’s mind.

Kumerow isn’t Davis fast. But he’s clearly fast enough.

I could hear the ref announcing the penalty while Adams was doing his sideline interview, but all I heard was "...after the TD, personal foul, #91..." but couldn't hear the rest of it.
Donnerson and #68 were pushing each other in the end zone, so I assume Donnerson either gave him a shot to the head or pushed him down.

The time out was for MM to get an explanation from the refs why the ball was placed at our 45 after the OOB kickoff. I don't understand it either, since they added an additional 15 yards, which seems to be a double penalty for a single play.

Working the concern backwards. Given the kickoff rules. Don’t kick the ball out of bounds. Ever. And never compound a dead ball penalty with an unsportsmanlike penalty. That’s a quick way to let the coaches know you’re not connecting the dots.

A kick that goes out of bounds is an automatic penalty.

the ball is automatically placed 25 yards from the point of the kick.

the unsportsmanlike penalty was enforced on the kickoff.

meaning the Packers were kicking off from their own 20 yard line. The kick went out of bounds.

therefore, 20 + 25 = 45 yard line.

I hope it makes sense the way I just explained it..

EDIT for clarity: There were actually 2 penalties assessed on that kickoff. The original on 91 for being stupid, pushing the spot of kickoff back to the 20 yard line, and the second on Scott for being even stupider for kicking the ball oob.

Let’s simplify. A kick off out of bounds is spotted at the 40. Tack on a dumbass going rouge on a dead ball for no reason. 15 more yards.

Dont ever, ever, ever kick the ball out of bounds on a kick off in 2018. Again. EVER!!! It’s damn near impossible to let the return team get to the 30 yard line if you are doing things right. So giving away the 40 is bull**** Zook!

I believe both did. Alexander for sure did, he was complaining in his presser that he was never targeted in the pass game.

This either means his coverage was very good, or, it could mean that Rudolph was not even looking his way and trying to get the ball out to a favorite on the other side of the field.

I agree with this. Scott cost the team potentially 25 yards of field position by kicking the ball OOB.

But, he is young, has a killer leg and can only improve IMO.

This is good news. While I don't dislike House, I feel that he may be only the 5th best CB on the team.

a good insurance policy should one of the young guys flame out. Or, TW hits the age wall mid season.

Perhaps they need to run behind Marcedes more often. That's supposed to be his strength and why he was signed. Gutterkiss also needs to find a way to hang on to Tonyan based on the last game. He just has burst and seemed sure-handed. I didn't get a chance to see his blocking, but if it's adequate keep him and cut Kendricks. I hope we get to see more of him next week.

With 2 veteran TEs ahead of anyone, if they keep 3 (and I think they will), it wouldn't shock me to see them go youth/development with a 3rd TE.  Maybe even 1 on the PS.
