Some players will be on the field an hour before kickoff. You can walk down to the front row to take pictures.

Rent your seat backs at any entrance. I think it's $7 per.

Plan on no wi-fi or no cell coverage for that matter. Maybe it's just the Sprint network, but I was there for the opening game and had no coverage at all while inside Lambeau. Heard a local radio guy commenting on that after the game, too.

You can walk almost anywhere for pics until the place starts to fill up.

Your best food will probably be found outside the stadium with the tailgaters!

One more thing - the new video boards are awesome. I found myself watching them more than the field. Of course, we had end zone seats so seeing the action on the far end of the field was tough, so I used the video boards.

I am going---saw em at County stadium and Soldier field several times, once at Arrowhead and even once at Camp Randall for funzies--but never at Lambeau. I am stoked!

Just my 2 cents because I've only been to a couple games at Lambeau:

- Don't know about WiFi, but I don't know why you would necessarily need it. The new video boards are amazing and even if you can't see the action live, you can see replays very well. They also have other scores around the league on the board in case that's what you're looking for.

- You will see signs for where to rent seatbacks. I don't know how often you will be going to games, but you might think about going to KMart or something and investing in your own. It's more up-front, but you never know when they come in handy.

- The players are in and out before the game. We were in there a half hour or so before the game and got some decent pics. Mostly kickers and punters.

- Eat before. Find some tailgaters to eat with or bring your own food and tailgate. This last time we made some sandwiches, brought a couple bags of chips and some beer/soda and did our own thing (there were 6 of us). Not a spectacular tailgate, but it was cheap and we weren't hungry or thirsty come halftime. The lines are insane at the food vendors, we stood in line for a looong time just to get coffee.

Also don't come late to find a parking spot, they fill up QUICKLY. It's fine to look for the cheapest place to park, but the closer you get to the stadium the more expensive it is and the places that are cheapest will probably be filled up by the time you get there. We came for a Noon game at 10:15ish and it was pretty well full. Find a spot, pay and get situated because you will be wondering for a while if you try and wait it out. If you can handle a good hike, park far from the stadium...it will be easier to get out when you're trying to leave. Unless of course your hotel is in walking distance, then you're good.

and thinkin of Johnnie Gray---I might pull out my old #24 jersey to wear---it was more of a Willie Wood thing, but Johnnie Gray made it even better----then of course Mossey Cade....well.... how about that special team play of Jarred Bush....it's a little tight these days----but on the bright side, no Jacksonville linemen will be able to get a grip on it.

Have discovered the same thing with Cellcom this year. It's not coverage - it's bandwidth choking once all the smartphone folks start sending out pics and video of what they're watching. Once the game starts it's impossible to call or text anyone. Sent a text at the beginning of the game - it wasn't rec'd until an hour or so after the game.

RW, backpacks are not allowed.

There are actually some better spots to grab Packer gear other than Lambeau that are close by. Depending on where you park you should check out the Jersey Store which is located across the street from Stadium View and in front of a horrifically bad steakhouse. If you have time get that done before the game.

I was supposed to be taking my daughter to our first Packer game this weekend. Had reserved rooms at the Country Inn and Suites in north GB when the schedule came out. Unfortunately (depending on how you look at it), her varsity soccer team has had a very good year and will be playing in sectionals this weekend. Had to cancel the room.

The good part is, she's become a diehard fan, starting with the Superbowl run two years ago. Now she gets mad when their games are not carried on our local affiliate in Rochester and watches the game online.

The local Kohl's stores usually have a lot of clothing. Not so much for the other souvenirs.

Fuzzy still owns a bar, it's called Fuzzy's. My buddies and I went about 5 years ago, and met him, and it turned out that Jerry Kramer was there too. It was cool, they were signing hats, and taking pictures, etc. I have heard that Fuzzy isn't doing so well, and we went about 2-3 years ago, and the waitress said Fuzzy is in pretty bad health, I think his daughter runs the bar now, and he rarely shows up. Decent food, and good atmosphere, cool joint for a Packer fan.

I'm pretty sure Fuzzy doesn't own Fuzzy's anymore or have anything to do with it. It's pretty much the same as it used to be but highly improbable that you'll see Fuzzy there anymore.

If you do this let us know how it works out. I haven't ever done it because it is a zoo getting out of the stadium. I like having my car there in case we forget something. We have designated Packers luggage/duffel bag to keep our stuff in and if you are tailgating or just walking through the stadium lot to hang out with other people tailgating, you can always go back to the car to get things.

Looks like the Fuzzy Thurston bar I remember called Shenanigans was torn down and he relocated the bar to 2511 West Mason St. and it's called Fuzzy's #63 Bar & Grill.

any suggestions on the best/fastest route to drive from Madison to GB for the game? I saw on the Wisconsin DOT web site a while ago there was construction on US41, but I no longer see that listed.

from Brewtown to GB 43 is definitely better than 41.

From Milwaukee, yes. From Madison, no. Madison is 151 to 41.

41 around Oshkosh has been torn up for the past few years. 2 lanes that slow down a bit on game days but it's not bad. Just give yourself a little extra time.

43N only has a couple spots under minor construction. Port Washington and Sheboygan. 1hr 45 minute drive from downtown Milwaukee to tailgate.

Royal, you'll have great memories of the two of you at Lambeau. My son and I have been twice and the first was the best. Swirling snow started at halftime with a good wind, we lost in the last minute to Carolina, and we loved every second of it -- and he was only four. He still talks about that first visit. When the snow started and it would whip into our faces, I thought he'd want to leave but when I asked he said, "No, mama! I want to stay for the whole game." Loved it.

That road construction on 41 around Oshkosh can be a beast if you dont leave real early. Last year there was an accident on it somewhat ahead of me and traffic was stopped for a long, long time till the cops could get the damaged cars off the road. I barely made kick off, and should have gotten there at least an hour early. This year, for a 3 P.M. game it was smoother driving though. But for a noon game leave very early to avoid much of the congestion, and possible accients slowing things down to a crawl.

On the 151 to 41 route, a lot of folks (myself included) cut off 151 and take 26 North just outside of Waupun. 26 angles up to just South of Oshkosh and connects up with 41 there. This way you save some time, because of the angle. Otherwise you have to take 151 to Fond du Lac then 41 North. I think you save about 20 minutes going the route of 151, 26, 41. But, watch your speed on 26, especially around Rosendale, as it's a notorious speed trap.

In Green Bay I take the Ashland Ave exit off of 41, thats the exit just before the Oneida St exit. I take Ashland all the way up and take Potts Ave to the left. Then half way up on Potts I park on the left side in one of the business lots charging to park. The one I usually use is a large trucking lot kinda place, still only $10 there and they have porta potties to use. The next parking lots closer charge more. Its a few block hike to the stadium from there. I park on the left side going in that way because after the game its easier to get out because of the one way traffic that happens after the game.

Have fun, but give your self lots of time by leaving early, as for a noon game traffic really is a bear the closer you get to game time.

The Hwy 26 route is shorter, but if you get stuck behind someone going the speed limit it'll take you longer since it's only 2-lane. 151 to 41 is all 4-lane. And yes, DON'T SPEED through Rosendale if you take Hwy 26.


There's a 4-mile stretch from DePere to Oneida Street exit that is also under construction. It will be very congested on game days. It's still 4-lane but very tight quarters. DD is spot on with taking Ashland to Potts and planning your route out.

If you want to be brave, on the way out take Hwy 172 past the airport to Cty Rd E. E will take you through Freedom and all the way to Hwy 41 in Appleton - you might avoid some of the post-game traffic around Green Bay if you take the back road.

Don't you take the Schlosser cutoff until you come to the fork in the road?? Johnny Carson's "Art Fern" character used to say that.

Tooner's WEBSITE has some good tips on parking and how to get out. His suggestion to cross to the east of the Fox River and take Hwy 57 is no joke. You'll meet up with Hwy 151 in Chilton which you will take back to Madison. Hwy 57 and parts of 151 are 2 lane, but you will move much, much faster thank the logjams on Hwys 41 and 43. Hwy 151 through Fond Du Lac has been updated in the last few years and is pretty quick to get through.

I'll be there, along with my son and his girlfriend and my daughter and her boyfriend. First time at Lambeau for the son's gf. The four of them will be in row 6 and I made the supreme sacrifice to sit "alone" in row 2.

The Packers will beat the 9ers and the Giants. Get drunk after later La La La La La Curley?
