The call was horrible. There's no disputing that. The only "simultaneous" thing that happened were the two dumdum refs that provided contradicting calls at the same time.
Bad calls happen though. With that said, replay is in place to make sure this stuff doesn't happen. It supposed to correct the blunders of human nature. It gives the refs a slow motion look at the play, a chance to take a breath and make the correct call. It still didn't happen.
Some fans then clung onto "Rule 17", which allows the NFL to reverse an obvious blunder such as this. There was no excuse not to. It was the last play of the game. It was obviously a horrible call. It affected the outcome of the football game. Everything was in order for the NFL to take a step back, man up and tell the world they ****ed it all up and properly award the Packers the W.
What do we get instead? A sorry ass response from the NFL blowing smoke up our asses while agreeing with the officials. Even a full blown poof knows it's a load of crap.
The NFL punched the fans in the face and basically said, don't worry about it.
That's what pisses me off.
