I agree with the sentiment, but I sure hope they haven't set aside any bronze for little Russy just yet.

Naw I was paraphrasing.  They said Super Bowl winners and talked about them one by one. They didn't specifically say HOF for Ben, or Wilson either. They called AR the current best QB despite a down year.

We need Adams & Quentin Rollins & Shields.

Just don't see how we can win without them

I hear (and understand) the sarcasm.  However, I do believe that we must have at least Rollins or Shields out there to pull off the upset.  Being down two out of our top three CBs would make it extremely tough against the NFL's top scoring offense.   Having all three would be HUGE.

"CP has played better than AR."

I think the talent of the receiving corps may have something to do with that.

That is probably a factor, but regardless, it is a fact that Palmer has played better.

Palmer may have played better, but 109 catches (in 145 targets) by a future HOF WR in Larry Fitzgerald plays a huge part. Fitzgerald is basically a possession receiver now, but he's probably the best in the NFL for that role.

I think it's about a security blanket.

Rodgers has always wanted his receivers to be open.  Even last year, he commented to the media that Nelson at times was the only one getting open, and how much he valued Jordy for that.  Before that, he always preached that he threw it to whoever was open.

Those comments are kind of telling now.  Yes he has missed throws this year, but it only started happening after the consistent failure of the existing receivers to get open.  I think it changed his whole approach to the game, messed up his rythmn and got in his head, like he wanted the receivers or the scheme to change and not him.  That's why he looked disgruntled half the time.

Anyway, based on his most recent comments, I think he is realizing his receivers are what they are, and he's just going to have to take more chances and throw into smaller windows if we are going to advance, and he just needs to accept what weapons he has and what their limitations are.

It's not physical, it's in his head.  That's fixable.  Great QB's find a way, and Aaron Rodgers is a great quarterback.

In watching some of the replays from previous Packer playoff games this week (including SBXLV) I noticed something that can make a big difference in this game. In all of those  post-season games Aaron seems to click it up a notch in terms of his release. The ball gets out in a heartbeat and he's not waiting for his receivers to "get open". This is something we didn't see a lot of from the middle of this season and on. In the Washington game last week we started seeing this again. Not quite up to where you'd like to see it yet but he seems to be coming on. If he gets back into this groove and the receivers make the grab, the Packers can score some points.
