In Week 17, in order to ensure a Sunday night game with playoff implications, the decision to move the start time may be made on six days notice.

If the Lions & Pack are both 11-4, you can pretty much bank on it

Bengals / Steelers is also an option

Since the only CBS late game is Denver @ Oakland I think the Bengls @ Steelers will be moved to a late game.  What could be a better game than Detoilet @ Green Bay for the NFC North Championship or a wild card spot or maybe even out of the playoffs?

I know Fox/CBS can prevent NBC from "stealing" their game but IIRC I know there was a limit to that and my guess is by week 17, those 2 networks may have used up their protections.

Agree with Boris. More then likely that's a night game.

If it is flexed that will be my decision maker as far as renewing my season tickets. One noon game out of 10 home games just doesn't work for my family with kids in school.

WOW! I didn't realize this until looked at the schedule. But that is what happens when you have avery good team and possibly the best or at least top 3 QB in the league.  I guess the Packers could always go back to the 1980's always playing at noon and never being on Sunday or Monday nights.

Send the kids out to Uncle Boris' "school for Packer fan dads". Great schools (honestly, rated best in nation)

Just think 5 months of peace & quiet.

No, it's what happens when the league puts profits before fans. In other words, same as it ever was.

It is putting fans first, just not the few, whiny fans who think the NFL should cater to their schedule. By having Green Bay play non-noon games, more fans (not just general, but actual Packers fans) get to see them play, plain & simple. The number of fans who actually have tickets is relatively miniscule and even the local fans who never moved away from home doesn't come close to covering it. And, again, that's not even counting all the NFL fans who want to see better teams play.

If I'm understanding the scenarios correctly, the GB and DET games don't matter for the North at all this Sunday. Regardless of the outcome combination, Week 17 will be winner take all.

Curious if the league would flex earlier knowing that, but I'm sure they'll wait until they have to make the call for the sake of health, etc.

Rong!

If the Lions beat the Bears & the Packers lose to Tampa, that would be devastating.

Fairly certain Lions win the tiebreaker & NFC North division if both finish 11-5. Packers potentially could be out of playoffs, depending on what happens in the West.

Win both the games, Finish strong & have a 12-4 record. The #2 seed is ours

No SNF in week 17. All games start at 12:00 LFT, with the exceptions of Raiders/Broncos, Cards/Niners, and Rams/Seahawks. Those 3 games have a 3:25 LFT start.

As ammo pointed out above, the only CBS late game is Oakland/Denver.

Hopefully, the late FOX games will be meaningless, and Lions/Packers will be flexed to that time.

Jeebus H Fribbiddy Christmas, WTF do people keep saying there's no Sunday Night Football Week 17?

So there isn't one scheduled at this time because they'll pick a good one rather than rescheduling two games.

I said that because there isn't a SNF game listed on the schedule at NFL.com.

Your link also provides this information:

"The NBC Sunday night time slot for "flex" weeks lists the game tentatively scheduled for Sunday night".

Well...there isn't one listed.

To be fair, the rules for flexing games are as confusing as those for PS eligibility.

This matters.

Wonder if there will be any wind.  That's the only element Rodgers doesn't like, ya' know.

Changing the Det game from noon to, say, 7:30 would certainly suck for many fans attending the game. Not everyone stays in town. People do drive home the same day. Maybe even fly out that evening. But, screw those whiners, right?

I agree, more than likely the Pack will be flexed.  But I think there is another scenario, that could play out, especially if the Pokes lose to the Colts.  I could see the NFL putting the Cowboys in the flex, for the mere fact of "blowing it again", and if they can get rid of the last game flex jinx for the past 3 years.  They play the Native Americans, and it could be a win and they are in scenario.  NBC and the NFL would eat that type of drama up, with Jerruh and another epic collapse??  Plus add to the drama that they could be 11-5, and be left out of the playoffs, maybe the NFL doesn't want to draw attention to that?

Philly losing yesterday did a lot to swing the potential Week 17 Sunday Nighter.

Detroit is now in. GB win today and they're in. Cowboy win today and they're in.

The most likely game in play for next Sunday night is probably Atlanta and Carlina if they both win today. That game is for the division and loser goes home. Of course, Atlanta has to beat NO in NO first.

Bigger draw in GB and Detroit. Not so much nationaly. Last Sunday night game always looking for the win or go home teams. Even if 7-9 takes the division. If either Atlanta or Carolina lose today then GB-Detroit probably jumps to the front of the line again by default. Cincy-Pitt also an option.
