I think it would be pretty tough if you were traveling into town and made a bunch of arrangements ahead of time to see a noon game get moved to Sunday night.

Forget about the hit you will likely take having to change flights or hotel reservations but you almost have to change around your entire schedule for the weekend and Monday to make it work

The good news is Roger Goodell is charge and we all know how much he cars about the fans

Yes, they flexed the Rams/Seahawks game to the night game that year because the winner would have been in the playoffs. The thinking was that Chicago was going to rest its starters since they were already locked into the #2 seed. However, Lovie decided he was going to try to keep the Packers out of the playoffs and played his guys the whole way. It turned out to be a bad decision by NBC.

Sunday Night Game will be more than likely be Carolina/ Atlanta. Win and your in. More important than a division title when both teams are in.   Packers/Lions could be changed to 3:25 start to give a larger national audience.

Actually, ammo may be right, the "win or go home" drama provided by Atlanta/Carolina may be too tempting to pass up, after thinking it over a bit more.

I'd still put my money on GB DET being flexed to NBC, but I wouldn't put ALL of it up.

I agree with everything you said.  But I'll add that ticket buyers should understand how the scheduling works in the NFL.  Buyer beware.

I can see this. 3:25 games have been outdoing SNF this season IIRC.

As long as its a national game.

It's Atlanta/Carolina I bet.

I forgot that it is "win or go home" game for Atlanta and Carolina.  This game will probably be the SNF game.

FOX and CBS both have doubleheaders next week.

Thank Marc Trestman. He sucks.

If Cutler played the bears probably win that game

Didn't matter though. Eagles loss yesterday put Lions in even if they went 10-6

Since flex scheduling has been in play over the last few years, I'd guess the serious fans have adapted by now. It's probably the yuppie couple doing a bucket list that never gives those possibilities a thought.

I agree it sucks that a fan is subjected to something like that, but Finn is right. People have to have the flexibility to adapt to changes, lest they have an "Out-of-Towners" experience.

Sounds official now. From the Lions team site:

The NFL has flexed the Lions-Packers Week 17 matchup to a 4:25 p.m. start.

With a division title and playoff seeding on the line for the Dec. 28 regular season finale, the Detroit Lions will no longer be playing the Green Bay Packers at 1 p.m.

The NFL has flexed the Lions’ Week 17 matchup to a 4:25 p.m. start in place of its originally scheduled 1 p.m. kickoff. The Lions-Packers game at Lambeau Field will be broadcast on FOX.

The stakes will be high, as the Lions (11-4) and Packers (11-4) will battle for the NFC North division title and a first-round bye in the playoffs.

Both clubs secured their spot in the postseason this weekend, as the Lions clinched their second playoff berth since 1999 with the Eagles’ loss on Saturday, while the Packers joined the tournament with their win over the Buccaneers on Sunday.

The Lions haven’t won in Wisconsin since 1991, a streak that spans 23 games. However, Detroit has won its past two home games against Green Bay, including a 19-7 victory in Week 3 in which the defense scored a touchdown and limited quarterback Aaron Rodgers to just 162 yards passing and one score.
