I think Fickell will eventually get them on the right path I just think its going to take a little time. But I was so disappointed with the play of the defense heck I am old, fat, washed up, have a bad knee and I could have waddled out running free against that defense.

With transfer portal and their ability to recruit I think it’s possible to accelerate their improvement. The class next year is looking really strong.

I saw the list of commitments for next year and this has to be perhaps the best UW recruitment classes ever.
Badger Blitz has UW as the 19th best class in the country for 2024.
That includes several 4 star defensive backs like Xavier Lucas, Omillio Agard, and Jay Harper. They also landed Remington Moss (DB) for 2025 who is a 3 or 4 star guy depending on the source.
Overall, they have 10 prospects in the ‘24 class that are 4 stars which means they are legit HS guys that most of the best programs are after.
For 2023, they had three 4 star guys as a comparison.
I like a few of the DBs they brought in this year but clearly the current roster needs an upgrade on the back end.
