I posted this a few years back (or something like it) The original is now forever lost (not in the archives and the computer it was on is long dead). But last night, I decided to throw it together once again. I remembered some of the gags....added a few new ones....

So for your entertainment pleasure or mild amusement or a waste of 5 minutes, I present

Diary of a X4 Poster (the redux)

Day 1: I wandered across a Packer forum last night, times4 or something. I think its supposed to represent the Packers four Superbowl wins or it’s a salute to Favre or something. It was kind of neat to see all the threads about players and games and Ted Thompson. I bookmarked, I might go back and read it after this week’s game…if I have time. You know with the big project at work and training for that half-marathon and playing with the twins, Bart and Brett, I don’t have a lot of free time for frivolities, heck some might even think the fact that I’m a 35 year old man keeping a journal is a bit odd but its something I find time to fit in, I don't know if I'll fit this times4 in or not.

Day 6: Spent a couple of hours reading times4 after the game today. It was cool to read all the responses to the game and to see some of the personalities that post at that place. Some of them are really odd. I think I will continue to lurk, I think that’s what its called, for a while more. I feel a little guilty about skipping today’s run, but I really enjoyed reading all the threads.

Day 10: I figured out how to get past the firewall at work and read times4 a little this afternoon.

Day 16: Well, I made my first post on times4 today. It was kind of exciting. A few people welcomed me to the site, one asked for chocolate and another insulted me and called me a name.

Day 28: I’m a bit out of it at work today. I stayed up till almost 3 this morning posting on times4. I had a pretty good argument going with some guy named icon about how good Craig Nall was. He seemed a bit over the top, almost psychotic, but I think by the end I was able to bring him around to my way of thinking. I might have to run home quick after work and see how he responded to my last post. That means I’ll have to skip the workout at the club and have my wife pick up the twins from daycare….but I think it’ll be okay.

Day 31: You know what really goes well with posting…drinking beer and eating doughnuts. I have some of my best thoughts when doing this.

Day 39: Those stupid little brats of mine keep interrupting my posting time for stupid things like eating or giving me a hug. Don’t they know that if I can’t convince Beerman that TT is a good GM I’m just not pulling my weight at times4.

Day 46: My wife is starting to get a little peaved about how much time I spend with my “internet geek friends”. She just doesn’t understand, I am a passionate Packer fan and nothing more. Its not like I need them or anything. So what if I called one of the twins Blaire instead of Bart….its a human mistake.

Day 55: My boss is pretty upset with me right now. I forgot to get that report to him on time…but that argument about TT’s lack of activity in free agency was just so interesting. I’ll throw something together after lunch…but first I’ve got a quick quip to get in on times4.

Day 64: I’m gonna have to get some new pants. I just haven’t been keeping up with my exercise plan the way I should be. About the only pants that fit now are an old pair of zubas. They do make me look cool though

Day 73: Henry made me cry today…..and you know, in a weird way, it kind of made me feel good.

Day 79: A bunch of Bear fans are on times4 swearing that Cutler will win them a Superbowl

Day 87: I started a thread today about using the Packer player’s names as puns (You better like this thread or I’ll get a guard to Sitton you). It hasn’t gotten my posts yet, and I’m a little depressed about it, I think instead of going to the kids, whatever their names are, school program, I’m gonna go have a beer to try and improve my mood.

Day 93: For the first time ever, I was not asked to join the rest of my workers for the weekly Friday basketball game down at the Y. Sure, I’ve put on a few pounds and had to drop out last time…but it still kind of hurts my feelings. I think their just all jealous of the fact that I made the list of top 5 posters this month on times4.

Day 100: We tried to take a family Christmas card today….but we never got it to go. My wife got mad at me when I insisted that we pose like that group of Favre fans that are in that one picture that keeps getting posted on times4. I think it would be cool….but no her and the two boys…Bert and Brent…want to do something non-Packer related.

Day 108: It was my wedding anniversary. My wife came down to the den and sat in front of my computer screen wearing some skimpy nightgown. I probably messed up when I looked at her and said she wasn’t Miss times4 material. She was mad, but said that if I came upstairs she had a little surprise for me in the bedroom. I then got into a huge posting argument with Champ over the number of sell outs Minnesota has had in comparison to Green Bay. We went back and forth till about 6 AM, but I think I got the better of him. Can’t help but think I forgot something though.

Day 114: Read a neat thread about how one of Timthepackerfan’s daughters is now playing on some state traveling volleyball team. That’s so cool. I wonder if my kids do any sports.

Day 127: A bunch of Bear fans are on times4 today swearing that Cutler will get better.

Day 138: I got fired today. So, I missed a few deadlines and some of my reports are supposedly not comprehendible and sloppy. Is it my fault that the boss doesn’t have the tallant to not be an idot when reading my stuff. I’m going to have to break the news to my wife, eventually, but I think I’ll check out times4 to see if anyone there has some advice for me first.

Day 150: I skipped a job interview today….but there was this neat link to a site that asks you to name all the starting linebackers in the NFL with vowels at the end of their name. I almost got them all too. Oh well, I really didn’t want to get up and take a shower anyhow.

Day 165: I put a hotplate and a mini-fridge next to the computer desk in the den. Well, actually, I had the kids, Bart and TOG, carry them in. I just don’t feel up to doing physical labor. Now I can sit in the den and post all day without having to get up to eat or get something to drink. I wonder if I could get a toilet put in down here. I probably can’t afford it, not having worked in a while….maybe a bedpan…..

Day 157: My wife took the kids and left me today. I’m probably gonna miss them. Boy did Brak have a funny post about South Carolina football today. It really had me laughing out loud. I wish I hadn’t read that post while my wife was telling me she was leaving.

Day 183: A bunch of Bear fans are on times4 today swearing at Cutler.

Day 195: I’ve done a statistical study of the number of replies I get to my posts. As near as I can figure, I have an average of 3.72 responses to each of my posts. That only trails chickenboy and diggr…but if I change it to count only non-insulting responses, I’m way ahead. That one guy, justanotherpackerfan, actually has a negative number of responses to each of his posts.

Day 205: Big discussion on times4 today about whether or not the outside linebackers should be lining up inside or on the hash marks. I sent some money towards Boris and times4 using Paypal. I know my credit card is way over its limit, I hope the money goes through…I really want to see what goes on in that Premium Members Forum….I think they’re talking about me in there.

Day 213: The police came and evicted me today. Luckily I got the laptop and got out before they chained the doors shut. I suppose I can sleep in the car for a while and post at an internet café or something.

Day 221: Boy did I get packerboi good today. He had posted some links to Packer news and I told him that if he keeps linking so much he should change his name to Zelda. Well, actually I didn’t really post that and I didn’t really read times4 today (the internet café kicked me out), but I was pretending to type on this cardboard box in the alley, and that’s what I would have posted. Tomorrow, I’m going to the public library, I hear they have free internet there.

Day 228: I think I saw Blair Kiel walking down the street today, I know he lives in Florida, but this guy looks just like I imagined Blair to look like….except without the halo. I followed him to his house, if I can work up the nerve I’ll invite myself in, if not, I’ll sleep in his dumpster.

Day 233: I might move to NYC so that I can panhandle outside the NFL draft site. Maybe I’ll even get to touch Boris’ pant leg.

Day 234: I decided not to move to NYC after all and I don’t like Boris anymore…he or one of his mod nazis edited my post for calling Ted Thompson bad names.

Day 235: I cried myself to sleep last night, I feel so sorry and so bad about my behavior on times4 yesterday. I don’t know how I can live with myself….how does icon do it?

Day 247: The librarian is starting to get a little upset with me….I should probably tone down the yelling, but sometimes I get so worked up……how can anyone be cheering for the *******…those people aren’t Packer fans…..if I had the energy I’d do something about it….but I just don’t have much energy.

Day 269: I just don’t feel to well today, kind of sluggish. I should ask MNCheese if he can recommend some kind of program to help me get back into shape….but not at the expense of my time4 posting time.

Day 275: My arm is really sore. There’s a shooting pain down my left side. I should probably go to the free clinic and have it looked at, but I can’t go right now. I’m in a great argument with Anthony Dillweed…I’ll go as soon as I get him to admit he’s wrong.

Absolutely phenomenal. Hats off to the author and japf for re-posting.

So much good stuff, but this was hysterical:

I've read this a few times...how come I'm not finding any mention of the silent killer rule?
