Not sure if anyone has been following this situation, but Lucas was a highly regarded cornerback that committed to Wisconsin and actually got some decent playing time this year.

He had been requesting release to the transfer portal in December but for some unknown reason UW did not grant his request.  While the Badgers had been mostly silent, Lucas hired an attorney and most recently enrolled at the University of Miami.  His attorney is threatening to sue UW along with the NCAA.

The Badgers broke their silence this week and claimed Lucas signed a 2 year NIL agreement with Wisconsin and now they’re claiming tampering by the U along with breach of contract.  What’s important to note is the House settlement isn’t expected to occur until early April so technically the “agreement” signed is a precursor letter of understanding.

On top of this, Lucas is saying he wants to be closer to home and has a very ill family member and is trying to drum up support through the court of public opinion but outside of parts of south Florida he’s not getting a whole lot of love.

I have absolutely no idea where this will end up but it sure will be fascinating to follow.

DEEZ NUTS!

I would think it depends on what is in the contract. Was it all $$$ up front?  Or pay as you go?  A combination of both?  Can he return most of or all of the $$$ and walk away?  Only time will tell.
