Bettering the Bulls 96-97 record seemed like a given once they were at 55 or so wins, but stopping the Spurs home-win streak is more impressive to me.
The impending Western conference championship series between the Spurs and the Warriors might be the best non-title series in NBA history. It's amazing to think that the Warriors may go 73-9 and probably be just a slight favorite to even make the NBA Finals.
It may depend on which team has to work the hardest to get to that series. If the Warriors end up playing a relatively well rested Spurs team, I'd probably bet on the Spurs. If Parker, Ginobili, and Duncan have to play big minutes in the first two series, I'd bet on the Warriors.
Spurs 40-1 at home
400 3-pointers. He's a machine.
73-9. Simply amazing
Western Conference finals.
Starting Monday...GAME ON!!
Should be a great series...
One of the better conference finals matchups in quite some time. I think OKC has a real shot if the dynamic duo can stay healthy. If it doesn't go 6 or 7 games I would be surprised.
OKC with a huge win on the road last night. They refused to quit and seem to be making the most of what could be the last playoff run of Durant and Westbrook together as KD is a free agent and Westbook will be after next season.
I like GS and their style of play but admit I am pulling for OKC. It would be a shame if that team didn't at least make the NBA Finals once.
I think the GSW thought they were going to coast to a win in game 1 after getting up on them easily in the first half. Then they went cold shooting, very cold for them & OKC stole 1.
It's a good wake up call. I have a feeling you're going to see the real GSW tonight even the series.
It's a great test & OKC is very good. Should be a great game.
The bigger, faster team is up 3-1.
GS is losing the same way they win. And the quick shots aren't falling. It feeds the OKC break, which means avalanche and you look up and they are down 18. It is exactly what they have been doing to everyone else all season.
GS had their shot- OKC was 1-11 at one point in the 3rd, and the closest GS got was 8 points. Then OKC got a few baskets and GS was never closer.
GS is just soft on D. Green tries to portray he's a tough guy but he's not. Adams and Ibaka are killing the Warriors on the glass and Durant has contested a lot of shots. Then they get out on transition (OKC) and it's over.

Disagree.....
We're going to find out everything on Saturday night. 1 way or another.
If GS plays defense like I know they can & win game 6....OKC is in deep poo.
Bogut was key in game 5- they'll need him game 6 as well.
Agree....
All the pressure is on OKC. If they let it get back to Oakland....barring injury...I can't imagine the Warriors losing game 7.
I'll be happy with a compelling game.
It'll be compelling.
I'm just hoping the Dubs win game 6.
Should be a grea 4th quarter...
An all time performance, for sure...
I rewatched highlights of that 4th quarter. Some of those shots Thompson hit he didn't even pick up the rim in his view until he was well into the shot. It was even more unbelievable the second time watching it.
How good was Thompson? Curry went for 31 points (6-14 from 3 and 22 points in the second half), 10 rebounds, and 9 assists which included a game tying 3 and a high arcing running bank shot to put them up 5 and seal the game. In other words, Curry had one of the best win or go home games in playoff history - a triple double with 6 threes and game tying and game clinching shots and people aren't talking it that much because Thompson's game was that much better.
Durant/Westbrook will either go for about 80 points on Monday or they'll shoot themselves out of the game quickly.
Honestly, IMO we haven't seen basketball this good & this fun since Bird & Magic
OKC blew it. They knew they had to win game 6 as it will be extremely difficult to win a game 7 in Golden State. I just hope it's competitive. The Thunder can win if they play well but I don't think they will.
Yoooooge Favorites....YOOOOOOGE
I started this thread back in November 2015.
It's been a great ride. I'm hopeful GSW caps off this season with it's 2nd in a row & places King James at 2-5 in Finals.
People in the league are so quick to say that Steph Curry benefits from the changes in the rules. The no hand-check, free movement, and not getting body slammed in the lane when he attacks the paint?
Well, does LeBron not also play by these same rules? Does he not benefit from these same changes? Funny you don't hear people diminishing his accomplishments...
1 of the things being said is King James wants to be known as the worlds best player. To do that, He & his Cavs will need to beat the Dubs & the Unanimous MVP.
Otherwise.....King Curry will reign supreme.
I hope nobody on either team gets injured. Should be a fantastic series
