Well, I have DirecTV and will no longer have the Sunday Ticket.  So, I have to watch them on YouTube TV I guess.  I have a few questions around this as I know there are probably a few of you here who have it.

1)  Does YouTube TV offer an NFL games only package or do I have to be a YouTube TV subscriber?

2)  How much is it to be a YouTube TV subscriber?  Are the NFL games a separate fee or included as an option?

3)  I stream through my TV, is it just a matter of clicking on the YouTube app and going from there?

4)  How is the picture?  I have 200 mps service, is the streaming smooth?

5) Is it worth getting the subscription?  I pay $160/mo now with DirecTV.  Are there levels of packages with different channels?  Is there a decent choice with the base package?

6)  Do you like it?

Thank you for your answers.

Have it and love it. DVR programs can be ff through commercials unless your getting the on demand version.  Those have commercials.  When you pick a recording it often has choose a version option. You'll want to choose DVR not on demand,  and you'll be OK. Quality is outstanding.  Nice thing about their recording options is the moment you add a show to record,  you get access to older episodes you may have missed out on, but those are on demand with commercials.  Still nice if you discovered a show late in a season.  We bought the full ride pretty much for around $120. NFL games are on the networks at no extra charge. Redzone is $10 extra. Bought Sunday Ticket, don't know how that works yet of course.

I think YouTube TV has done a terrible job of promoting, informing and retaining DTV Sunday Ticket subscribers.  I have received no mail offers or email announcements.  Nor do I see any ad campaigns either.  I rarely watch NFLN.  Then last night, I see the reminder article in JSOnline about the $100 sale price expiring tomorrow.  It is as if they are trying to get people to panic purchase.

Last year I needed the Ticket for only 2-3  games.  The Packers were on free TV for all the other games.  So, having the Ticket was not cost-effective last year as the year before as well.  Probably, I will revert back to finding a sports bar and watching them there like I did 22 years ago.

Though, it would not surprise me to see them run a $100 off sale right before the season begins.

YTTV. Can't beat it. Record whatever you want. Never delete anything (auto falls off 9 months later) there isn't even a delete option!

Love Packs explanation of DVR vs On demand is spot on.

I'm still not paying for Sunday Ticket. I have SiriusXM and a VPN - I'll be seeing every game easily.

NFL🖕🏞

The biggest thing that annoys me right off the bat is the inability to just punch in a channel.

The search option is (of course) Google based - I assure you if you search for "NFL" or your favorite team "Packers" everything you need is right there at your fingertips.

You can also sort and customize the guide with your favorite channels at the top of the guide. You control everything.

It also gets to know what you like - 3 options across top of screen/guide (Library - Home - Live) it knows what you want to see. You'll understand better once you start using it.

When I first decided to cut the cord and go with something else I tried Youtube TV and Fubo.  Youtube for some reason early on had a bad picture and it buffered a lot on me.  So I went with Fubo which has been great but the only drawback is that you do not get all the channels that Youtube has.

I am pretty sure I am going to make the jump and go back with Youtube now that I looked in to it more and with all of your suggestions.  I am still on the fence about Sunday ticket I am probably going to use a VPN and find a good stream before I pay the NFL prices.

I still want to know why it is you cannot buy a one game or just a teams games without having to pay the huge price.  But I guess its the NFL and they want to squeeze every penny out of you.

And now that Congress looks like is going to get involved with taxing sports leagues due to the PGA/LIV merger the NFL will only be charging more.

The first salvo came out of the office of California Rep. John Garamendi (D), a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee.

On Wednesday, the congressman introduced a bill called the “No Corporate Tax Exemption for Professional Sports Act” following what the he called the “Saudi Sovereign Wealth Fund’s surprise takeover of the PGA Tour.”

The legislation would end the tax loophole that the PGA Tour and other professional sports leagues use to avoid paying any federal corporate income tax.

Congress pulls this shit every time something happens in sports they don’t like but they never follow up on it. Grandstanding!

THEY SHOULD PAY THEIR DAMN SHARE.  Just sick billionaires pay less then the working Jane and Joe pay in federal taxes.   ðŸĪŽ ðŸĪŽ ðŸĪŽ  oh, and JMHO.

Fuck you, cut spending.  (Seriously, the debt ceiling folderol could have been avoided if the "emergency" covid spending didn't become the new federal budget baseline.  The ratchet only ever goes one way.)
