I am SO ready for GREEN BAY PACKER football to get started!!

Annnnnnndddd

YAY TO TITM THREAD STARTING!!!

I am stuck in PA in a hotel that doesn't have NFL network, BUT you can stream it if you enter your cable provider info.... so folks in a similar situation, keep that in mind!!

It's going to be an interesting night.  Lots of young guys competing for just a few spots.  In particular I am interested in the DLine.  A few guys I am going to keep an eye on:

  • Josh Boyd (93)  need him to be ready for game 1.
  • Mike Pennel (64)
  • Heard that Lavon Hooks (78) has looked really good.
  • And of course Kyri Thorton (94) is close to meeting the Turk.

Also, been hearing good things about some of the OLine backups.  Josh Walker (79) is supposed to be doing VERY well, rarely gets beat in 1 vs 1s and is huge.

Of course the all the new Dbacks are going to be interesting to see, along with new kid in the receiver core, Montgomery (88)!

Who's going to show as the 3rd RB?

Is Elliot (91) ready to step up after last year's PS showing?

How are these promising backup QBs going to look?

So many questions!   What are you other folks looking forward to watching?

  • Personnell groups on special teams
  • How Gunter (#36) does on STs.
  • Malumba
  • If any of the backup TEs can show some things
  • Much more excited about Hundley than I was about BJ Coleman.  He seems to have progressed more in two weeks than Coleman did in two years.

Matthews, Daniels stay home from New England trip

On Tuesday, coach Mike McCarthy said his “outlook” was to have every player who traveled on the Green Bay Packers’ team charter to play in Thursday night’s preseason opener against the New England Patriots.

Then he left 13 players back home in Green Bay – including linebacker Clay Matthews and defensive end Mike Daniels, the team’s top two defensive players.

While that doesn’t mean that all 75 players who did in fact make the trip to Gillette Stadium will play, it means that these guys most certainly will not:

WR Adrian Coxson (concussion)
WR Javess Blue (shoulder)
CB Damarious Randall (groin)
CB Tay Glover-Wright (hamstring)
S Sean Richardson (pectoral)
CB Demetri Goodson (calf)
T Vince Kowalski (concussion)
LB Clay Matthews (knee)
LB Nick Perry (groin)
DE Mike Daniels (ankle)
WR Jared Abbrederis (concussion)
OLB Mike Neal (abdomen)
DE Letroy Guion (hamstring)

Good call Titm, I forgot about special teams other than calling out Montgomery.  Gunter will be interesting to watch along with Malumba (heck the LBs overall will be fun, we need to see a couple make a move)

TE is a good call.

Hell, Tolzien and Hundley, and that kid from Whitewater are all more interesting than BJ coleman!

NFL on-scene folks saying Aaron and first string going to play roughly the entire first quarter.

While Brady, contrary to earlier reports, is going to play an undetermined amount.

And the irony to that, I now am stuck in MN with my mortgage but telecommute for a WI company only 45 min from home...

Though the job opportunities got me the experience for this opportunity!

MN still sucks though!
