Among the many reasons to like TT. One of the best is that he never gives much away, especially around draft time. Who he likes, plans, position. Nothing. After the draft it's pretty much the same. "We had a plan. We like who we got. Goal is to make our team better....".

Then there's Jerry Jones. Apparently Jerry allowed a very high level of media access to his draft room and draft strategy. There is detail here, and even greater detail here

In the end Jerry is openly admitting the QB he drafted was his 3rd choice. Before the guy even arrives in Dallas. Jerry tried to trade back into round one and goes so far to tell everyone what he was offering in an attempt to draft Paxton Lynch.

Welcome to Dallas Dak Prescott!

Dallas wouldn’t increase its offer to Seattle from second-round and fourth-round picks to second and third-rounders, and that’s what lost Lynch. Eighteen hours after losing Lynch, the regret was chewing on Jones.

β€œAnd I live with second-guessing and disappointments. That’s a part of this business. But if I had to do it all over again? I’d give the three.”

Hindsight is awesome.

And ATL would have asked for more from Wolf.

And Brett would've dumped off to Grant.

And Bostick would've blocked.

And Lincoln would've stayed home and read.

Thanks for the links, cuqui.  The discussion in this one about taking Lowry over one of the available running backs was interesting to me.  Seems like Bob shares my (possibly irrational) fear of injuries at RB, notably for Starks, who is 30 years old.

The answer is, every year I think Starks is going to go down, and every year he's there, looking good, staying healthy and playing good, long-ass bowlegs and all. Plus Crockett is a capable backup.  So what are you going to do? As much as you want insurance (given the beating they take), you can only keep so many RB's.

Finally! An ANSWER!

To be fair, when it was reported Dallas was trying to move back in to Round one, then didn't take Prescott in Round two it was pretty obvious.
