The issue is with the microfrax surgery, that is something that many players just don't recover from. I don't remember who the players were, but when it was announced that Clowney was undergoing it, several NFL players voiced deep concern/condolences for Clowney stating that could derail his career. And so far, it has. IIRC, they said they'd sooner tear an ACL than undergo that.
This was from football outsiders who did studies on players who underwent the surgery:
Generally speaking, microfracture surgery is thought to be the equivalent of a death rattle for a professional athlete's career. Many players never make it back from the procedure. Those that do are often a shell of what they were before the procedure.
Dolphins stick with high character guys.
Wow, didn't hurt him that much.
That is the kind of pick the Dolphins would make. Yikes
Glad that drama is over
Nice pick by the Saints. I like Rankin and that Saints defense is so bereft of talent. People are calling him Aaron Donald 2.0. Obviously a ridiculous comparison but he should be plenty disruptive in the middle.
Great pick by the Dolphins. That pic of Tunsil comes out last week, it's researched and likely shown that it's an old pic. He passed every pre draft drug test. Give it 5 years and marijuana will be taken off the NFL banned drug list.
They are only on pick 14?? Ugh.
Chucky likes Tunsil. He's ripped on almost all of the previous picks.
CUPackFan posted:Ha and Bears do what bad teams do and trade up jut a few picks b/c they get scared their guy won't be there. Draft is too much of a gamble to throw picks away, Bears did just that.
Bears had an extra 4th round pick this year, not much of a gamble.
That's what bad GMs think, "I have an extra pick so I don't need it". TT got Lang, Sitton and Daniels in the fourth round. Those are valuable picks.

"He's a good ankle blocker" ???? what the hell does that mean??? Ankle blocker???
@WhitlockJason: Weed growers and jewelers going nuts on South Beach right now.

An ILB? Apparently you paid ZERO attention to who the Bears signed in Free Agency. Fangio , love a designated pass rusher, Alden Smith anybody? Floyd on one end, McPhee on the other, Rodgers may develop a close relationship to the turf.

Yeah he looked skinny when they showed him getting up to celebrate!
Another reach and twig for the Bores. Athletic or not, I am not impressed.

It's disgusting.
Typical Chucky and skiper. Cockgobblers.
Suzy Kolber at the end of the interview with Tunsil: "Is it you?" (on the video).
.
Wow ESPN.
Anyone know what it is about the microfrax surgery that makes it such a death sentence? Is it the surgery itself or just the amount of recovery time needed?
Wow Karl Joseph to the Raiders. He's a good player but never saw him mocked that high.

Good lord shut the **** up and go back home.

What ever happened to the good ol' days of pulling the bowl to clear the bong. That's a lot of wasted good smoke!
They've had good luck with Baylor WRs. In fact the league has had good luck with Baylor players under Art Briles. This guy has to not only be taught to play in an NFL offense, but he basically has to learn to play WR. Talented player, but Cleveland will have to break him down and build him up from scratch.
Good pick by the Lions.
Regarding Floyd.......dude is pretty slight for a pass rusher. 230ish lbs, right? Guys that small just don't hold up in the trenches. Everyone talks about "he has the frame to put on 15 lbs of muscle" but that's harder than it looks. Talk to guys who played college football about making weight. Some guys naturally carry weight. Others don't. Guess we'll see on Floyd.

Here's the thing I love about Emery. When he sees a problem or deficiency, he attacks it via multiple angles. He doesn't just sign one FA, he drafts the position as well. I think the Trestman/Emery duo are going to have a fantastic run in Chicago.

Yeah 20/20 hindsight is a wonderful thing. But when you have a GM that can sign more than one quality FA per year you may not need a bunch of mid round picks that need a few years to be productive.
Yeah I actually really like Decker. He's not flashy, but like Conklin he just gets the job done. To me he's a RT or LG only because I don't see the elite quickness, but again he gets the job done.
BSPN reported Floyd has a hard time putting on weight. Ah yes, to be that young again. !00 years ago, I had the same issue. Not no mo'!
