Probably just a coincidence...or maybe not.

I have heard a pretty solid rumor from the "car" guy with insider access that Rodgers does have some sort of shoulder issue that will eventually have to be addressed.

It flares up each season now...but last season was very close to having to shut him down for at least one game.

There are always nicks and scrapes to worry about...hopefully it had nothing to do with last seasons issues.

Watching Hundley's development should be one of the more entertaining stories of  pre-season.

I think Ted stole one here...this cat can play.

We are very lucky you didn't teach him how to throw a football.

Sweet.

Packers’ minicamp runs from Tuesday-Thursday

Posted by Mike Spofford on June 13, 2016 – 3:10 pm

The Packers’ three-day minicamp, the last portion of the offseason program, begins on Tuesday and runs through Thursday with three practices scheduled to be open to the public.

The team is scheduled practice each day at 11:30 a.m. at Ray Nitschke Field, with the workouts open to the public, weather permitting. Each practice is expected to last between 90 minutes and two hours.

Following Thursday’s final day of minicamp, the players will be off until the start of training camp in late July, exact date TBA.

@packers: McCarthy on minicamp: Approach different than it's been in the past...Group of 15 veterans excused...More opportunities for younger players.

@packers: McCarthy on decision to excuse veterans: The Hall of Fame Game was a big part of this decision. We have an extra week of work.

McCarthy: Fifteen veterans will have the week off

By Michael Cohen of the Journal Sentinel

Green Bay β€” The following is a summary of coach Mike McCarthy's pre-practice press conference on the first day of mandatory minicamp for the Green Bay Packers:

(On the plan for minicamp) Minicamp this year, the approach is different than it’s been in the past. We have a group of veterans each year, we select each year, there’s periods of time during camps, it usually occurs during training camp and sometimes in-season, you take these groups of veterans out. And it’s all based on where they’re at in their career, creating more opportunities for the younger players. I think we had 15 players that were excused after their physicals yesterday. … These 15 veterans were released for their five-week breaks.

(On the opportunities for Brett Hundley) It’s a great opportunity for Brett Hundley and the other two quarterbacks. These guys have been playing quarterback for their whole lives, but it’s different to be in command for a whole practice. … You just can’t get enough of those types of reps.

(On Luke Getsy working with the WRs) I think guys that are given jobs without going the path of quality control are at a big disservice of not having the foundation of the grind that quality control gives you. Luke has a great foundation. Now that he’s the No. 1 guy in the room he’s done a very good job. He’s taken control of it. … I think he’s off to a very good start.

(On the team’s status overall) Everything is calculated. Frankly our numbers, in terms of the things we evaluate, are the best of our time here. We’ve got three more days here to keep that. The quality of work and the workload has been very high. I’ve been pleased with that. The message today was, β€˜Let’s have a really good finish.’ It’s a minicamp, it’s a mandatory environment. We’re really keeping them in the same flow schedule-wise, timing-wise and all those types of things.

(On the older players having some time off) They were excited. It was kind of a funny meeting when I call them all in the room. … There’s a lot that goes into training a football team. Frankly, the Hall of Fame game is a big part of this decision. We have an extra week of work. … They’re excused three practices today but they’ll have four or five practices that first week, so it’s the same amount of work, or even a little bit more than they’ll have in a normal training camp. … This gives us four or five practices to get those young players ready to play in the first game.

IIRC, in past years under McCarthy the Packers have scheduled three days of mini-camp but used one of the days for a group activity, (like skeet bowling), so if you are going to go see them practice you could get stood up.

Day one is probably safe, weather permitting.

The team already went bowling.  The regular kind.  No idea what skeet bowling is...

No sweat.  AR is probably already in the HOF.  So Hundley takes over, leads us to a SB win.  He establishes himself as HOF material.  Nothing like keeping the Packer HOF Quarterback line going ..........

Hundley probably has a better shot at two rings with Eliot Wolf than Rodgers does with Ted.

The problem isn't Ted per se...but he's attached to MM and that now appears to be the problem.

MM is good but doesn't have the guts or the smarts to take enough calculated risk to be great...and he's bringing Arod down with him.

This is Arod's last season of being quiet about it...that boil is ready to burst. Winning heals all wounds...this season will be very very intersting.

Lombardi didn't have screw around days...and if they did it was to spit shine the "multiple championship" trophies.

He also didn't have OTA's, rookie camps, or mini-camps. Only had TC to teach his way and to get them in shape. Now, they come to TC in shape and have had the play book on an iPad since they signed with the team.

and when time proves you spectacularly wrong will you own it?

Yes absolutely.

But all the seeds have been planted for a rather spectacular implosion with this team and MM's leadership...or lack there of in critical areas of flexibility and taking calculated risks when appropriate. It effects the play on the field...think of the implosion in Seattle and OT last season. It's not coincidence. Ugh.

You can't win it all by playing it too safe all the time...or having your head up your ass and not reacting fast enough in critical games or to situation like Duh!Vante Adams giving up. Get him out of there! Giving up is a cancer on a team. Period.

Injury is no excuse for MM...why are you playing him then? Pssst...it's not because Janis! can't score TD's against the best defense in the NFL...so don't give me any excuses about route trees...and maybe we would have more INT's or that "what if" crap.

Not playing Janis! was the most obvious example but it's really just the tip of the iceberg.

Don't get me wrong...MM is great in many ways but his teams should have much more to show for it...Arod's talent is being wasted but we still have this season to make amends for that.

If this season blows up in any way...it could go nuclear...fast. Not only is Arod ready to blow...but you can kind of see Matthews trying his best to keep it all in. Our two top players could be ready for full scale mutiny if Captain Stoopy Face reverts to his old form.

Winning and winning it all is the only solution.

But that's ok...we are very fortunate to be in this position.

We have a chance...a very good one.

That is precious and special...like Henry.

Even as a kid...Arod would have been much too prissy to play with us.

But even at a young age...Colin was a stallion...a real man's man among boys.

That kid was something.

Going Vegan and being Pwhipped by Yoko aint in his repertoire.

Not that Arod hasn't grown into a fine QB...just sayin he's a kind of a smirky little prick just the same. Not the kind of talent I would look for.

They also didn't have to work an off-season job to pay the rent, (not to mention the bar tab).
