He's a blocker.  Obviously Mayo is doubling down on the run game.  Fuck Rodgers final years I guess.

I'm fine if that's the route they want to go but maybe they should continue to upgrade the defense to go with that type of offensive scheme.

Doesn’t improving the run game make Rodgers life easier? Not throwing 40 passes at 36 years old is a good thing. Sets up opportunities for AR and Adams.

A RT and oline depth would be better.

I guess having a defense getting gashed by the run game will keep Rodgers rested up.

81 more players get drafted before the Packers next pick.

Is Devin Funchess really the answer to their problems at WR?

How many NFL level ILBs do they actually have on the roster right now?

Degura ran a 4.72 40. He's a little faster than RichRod (4.82).

I'm more confused about this draft than any since the Packers actually got to the modern era (when they hired Ron Wolf).

Gutey gets paid a lot because they think he knows what he's doing. They were 13-3 last year.

SFO didn't curb stomp GB passing the ball. Been a lot of bitching about SFO improving and GB doing nothing to close the gap. Maybe controlling the ball and the clock, and still having one of the best ever at QB isn't such a bad path to 14.

Or controlling the clock keeps the D off the field.A punishing run game made Ryan Tannehil look like prime Aaron Rodgers and carried their team to the AFCC. Imagine what Rodgers can do against a 7 man box instead of 8 in coverage.

Makes one wonder how much longer you can afford to commit nearly 20% of your cap space on a guy that's gonna simply hand the ball off...

Rodgers contract is tradable after 2022. Based on Love’s contract I think that’s the deadline for the transition.

I didn’t say defense had nothing to do with it. But those teams controlled the clock with the run game on offense and didn’t let their opponents do shit really. Running game took Aaron Rodgers and Lamar Jackson out of the game basically...I think that was the plan, SF run game was scoring too fast. Pairing Rodgers savvy with a strong run game is an objectively good plan.

Back up QB- check

Back up RB- check

Back up TE - check

Next pick is guaranteed to be a safety.

Kick-off specialist?

A lot of speculation that the second round pick means they aren't going to pay Aaron Jones after this year.

I would like to pair it with a solid defense like SF did.  I would also like to see a future starter on the oline to keep Rodgers upright.  If they had picked a RT or DT with one of the 3 picks I'd be better with all of this.

You still have to stop the run at some point. Kirksey was added to the defense, that's it.

It’s clear the direction that MLF wants the offense to go. And look at the league, falling all over themselves to get smaller and quicker on D to combat the speedy offenses- Shanahan goes oppo to a power run game and so do the Titans. The ebb and the flow of the copycat NFL.

I don’t think they’re going to stand pat on the OL- be it FA or one of tomorrow’s picks- and I’m am just fine with all of it... if it works.

Gutekunst and MLF are betting their careers on it. And Rodgers, who most certainly is still one of the game’s most dangerous p/a throwers ever, will be shouting about that other thing he didn’t have all these years (like he said about the defense last year) if the team is forcing 8 man boxes come NOV/DEC/JAN. Kid in a candy store... if it works.

Should be a blast watching this thing play out...

The defense needs to get better for sure, but if the offense is controlling the ball than the defense isn't trying to stop the other offense. No single answer.

Really wanted Peart.
