They needed someone to fetch water for the QB's.
Well then...
The #Browns have now released WR Jarvis Landry, who had permission to seek a trade.

Nothing personal against the guy, but didn't he retire to spend more time with his family? I mean, between he and his wife, they have a bajillion dollars, so it's not money. It's not about family either, because they clearly take a second seat. I think he's addicted to the fame, the competition, the lure of another SB ring and his ego. I couldn't care less that he's back - the Bucs aren't going to be the same team this year.
Jaguars are giving former Cardinals WR Christian Kirk a four-year deal worth up to $84 million deal, per source.

If this stiff is getting that kind of coin...
Tis the season for stupid money. And we wonder how salaries get so high. Just takes one dumbass owner to blow things all to hell.
Center JC Tretter, the president of the NFLPA, is getting released by the Cleveland Browns, per source.

Great news on Burks.
You have to go back to 2016 to find the last decent 3rd round pick for the Packers (Fackrell). But even that's debatable.
Wow, Randy Gregory spurns the Cowboys to go to the Broncos - 5 years $70m. Even ignoring the time he's missed due to suspensions, he had just 9.5 sacks and 40 tackles in the last two seasons combined. And he's a pure pass rusher, so doesn't bring a whole lot outside of rushing the passer.
The Green Bay Packers are in fact in contact with CB Raul Douglas as both sides have mutual interest on getting a new deal done, sources confirm.

San Fran is just trolling Green Bay now. βYeah, your special teams sucked overall, but we went and got one of your only good ones day 1.β
Nassib could help the #Packers and upset a lot of close-minded people at the same time. It would be a win-win. https://t.co/miqh8GpfLc

Not necessarily team news but...
Like most kids of my generation, I grew up watching MNF w Frank Gifford, Howard Cosell & my momβs favorite Don Meredith so you can only imagine my excitement to be part of the legacy of MNF & continue working w Joe Buck, my broadcast partner for the last 20 years!#MNFonESPNπ pic.twitter.com/MKPeqncs0l
β Troy Aikman (@TroyAikman) March 16, 2022
Aikman is getting almost $100 million over 5 years, and Buck reportedly in the $60-75 million range over 5 years. It will be a welcome change not having these two for the Fox Game of the Week anymore...

Except it hasnβt been that stupid. Most guys changing teams have been for modest money thus far. Drew Rosenhaus clients seem to make up the majority of signings, but the extensions have mostly been the wtf dollars.

Will they still be seen and heard weekly?
100 million for Troy Aikman is stupid. I don't care who's payin!
@AdamSchefter: Former Packersβ pass rusher Za'Darius Smith is signing a four-year, $35 million deal that has a max value of $50 million with the Baltimore Ravens, per source.

This is agent speak. Schefter probably just copied and pasted it word for word.
The real question is how much money is guaranteed. In any event, 9 million a year is not big money for an elite pass rusher. It's likely Z. Smith didn't have a huge market.
1.) Glad he's not in the NFC. 2.) The Packers could have easily kept him over Preston. Something tells me that significant back surgery + topping 30 years old was not what they wanted to invest in.
Bad backs and football don't mix. Unless you count Packer RBs pre-Bennett and Levens.
The #Texans are signing RB Dare Ogunbowale to a two-year, $3.3 million deal, per his agents at @SPORTSTARSNYC. Former #Jaguars RB headed to Houston.

Would not have guessed he would do this, but good work for another former Badger
Godwin gets $60 mill from the Bucs over 3 years. $40 mill fully gauranteed.
^^^ That likely wonβt make Adams happy. No Godwin isnβt quite as productive, but he still managed almost 100 catches and over 1000 yards last season. And heβs just 26.
I just donβt see approaching 30, that Adams is 10mil better than this legit #1 WR

Clevelandβs front office is running around high giving each other.
I see Browns still being Browns. The thought was Mayfieldβs downturn in play was his shoulder injury and once that was fixed, heβd be fine.
Apparently not. 1 step forward, 10 back for the Brownies.
Was there really a downturn in play?
Just think of the Watson ads replacing the Mayfield ads.

Deshaun Watson will be the new QB of the Cleveland Browns. A real thing. The #Browns will now trade Baker Mayfield.

Deshaun Watson has decided he wants to play for the Cleveland Browns in a stunning change of events, per sources. Watson has informed the Houston Texans that he now is willing to waive the no-trade clause in his contract to be dealt to Cleveland.
