Zach Tom sucks ๐๐
My impression of the 2023 Green Bay Packers is they have a LOT of HUNGRY, YOUNG, TALENTED players.
Will they make mistakes of inexperience this year?
Absolutely!
Will they be fun to watch and have some dazzling moments?
Absolutely!
Is the future bright?
YES
That's what I'm looking forward to: having fun again watching the Packers. The past several years have been almost cookie-cutter and while winning was nice, the team didn't have a lot of energy. When MLF was hired, things changed a bit but then it was back to norm. Now, it seems the energy and youth and fun are back at Lambeau. It's a game, so have some fun! Whether that translates to wins or not we don't know yet, but it's a breath of fresh air.

Farging bastiges!
People are bound and determined to get Michaels elected because he's near death from ALS.
While that is indeed sad, it shouldn't have any bearing on HoF elections.
And while he was a good, if not great, DT, I don't think he's HoF worthy.

Not sure if this is the correct thread for this, but it'll work.
Cherry is carrying on one of Bart's traditions.
It's not exclusive to Love (although I'd love to know what she wrote to him), or even the Packers, for that matter. But I couldn't put it in a non-Packers thread, because Cherry is a beloved Packer, as far as I'm concerned.
Anybody else think her note to TOG1 was a little.... strange?
And, of course, one would wonder if she still wants his support, or if his letter got "lost in the mail"....
Not saying this is the final 5 starting OL, but I didn't predict Myers AND Nyman would be on the outside looking in. Wow.
Offensive line right now!!!

Love with a great back shoulder ball to Watson. Watson claims he caught it. The entire defense adamant that he didnโt. It will forever be a mystery. Nice ball by 10 tho.

Another pop pass jet sweep to Musgrave. Enagbare and Ford all over it. Nice job by 55 against Bakh.
Greatโฆ
I love seeing Gary back in the mix with this DL. Good things to come.
Devonte Wyatt would be sack on Love. Gary there too. Coverage sack for sure.
โ Andy Herman (@AndyHermanNFL) August 24, 2023
Keisean Nixon has now fallen down 3 times in coverage that has resulted in touchdowns this week. Jayden Reed wide open for the td from Love.
Entire pocket collapses on Love. Brooks, Enagbare, Wyatt,โฆ
Carlson now 5/6 today. Good from 45, off the left upright from 47 and good with about 10 yards to spare from 53.

Three pressures for Karl Brooks already in practice, too. Kid is gonna get some significant run this season.

Damn, Carlson will keep us up nights.
thanks for the updates

Does it really matter. Packers aint winning the Owl this year. They can ball out every game and lose almost every one by an extra point miss. Just beat the Bares, Vicklings and Loins. Finish with 6 wins get a good pick slot and go crazy next year with favorable cap space to work. Entertaining football that has you at the edge of your seat each week. Kinda like that playoff game against the Cards.

New drinking game boys.....
For every kick Carlson misses this year.....you take a shot!! ๐๐คญ
This team is going to be so much fun to watch.

I think you are onto something. Particularly after the way Gary has been treating Tom since his return to practice. A good reminder that despite his technical skills Tom is rather light in the britches for a tackle.
Better to โlight in the britchesโ than โlight in the loafersโ. No that thereโs anything wrong with that.
I do want to see how Walker does Saturday if they stick him at RT.
It is so easy moving from the left side of the line to the right side it should be a Walk in the park.
He's going to hit Emanuel Wilson?
He's gotta be pretty fast then.
Matt LaFleurโs Season of Change and Uncertainty
Sports Illustrated
By MATT VERDERAME 8/25/23
There, I ask LaFleur a simple question: What do you want your teamโs identity to be?
โWe know we play an imperfect game,โ LaFleur says after Tuesdayโs practice at Nitschke Field. โI want it to show through all the intangibles that take no talent. The effort at which weโre flying to the football defensively. How hard are we blocking for each other offensively? All of the things that at the end of it, it takes no talent to do. That doesnโt just create itself on gameday. That has to be through your practice habits and what you do each and every day. Are you going to the extreme, are you going to exhaust yourself in every situation, every opportunity that you go out there on the grass?โ continue

Might be a good solution.
Bakhtiari is great, when he can go.
โJenkins is top-notch, as well.
Tom should have a spot somewhere, and his size probably makes Center his best spot.
Runyan is serviceable.
Nijman is not a guy you want as a regular starter. Heโs an okay swing guy, but pretty much a jag.
Walker has the size and pedigree to be a candidate for the position.

Great to see Walker competing. Lots of value there even if his ceiling is a solid backup being a 7th rounder. Love to see that.
Mason hitting back. Nice to see. Sounds like his phone is not on do not disturb.

A couple thumbs down. My problem with Walker at RT is it is late in the preseason and we all saw how bad the oline was with shifting players last year. The chances of Bahktiari playing every game are slim to none. Have his replacement ready for this season and the future.
They've been sorting that out in practice all camp. They've had 4 different guys playing extended snaps at LT in camp.

You are not wrong, but he has 2 weeks to sort that out. They will know by week 1 if he can do it.
Rodney is a tool...Good for Mason for calling him out.
Get Mason back. We'll drop from 11 wins to eight because of Carlson. Put the kid on the practice squad until he figures it out.
Get Mason back and just onside kick it every time. We might recover a couple. Plus, the defense can't get beat deep if they're playing on a short field.
