Some things from Gute this morning:
Brian Gutekunst makes it clear David Bakhtiari is his LT: "First of all, we're not going to trade David. So just get that out of the way."
Gutekunst says Bakhtiari is in "a good place" with his knee, knows how to handle it, preserve himself for the season.
Gutekunst is still backing rookie K Anders Carlson. He called his inconsistency "pretty typical."
He says a lesson he's learned is the risk of not being patient when there needs to be: "Certainly, Mason had some tough times when he struggled, and I thought Ted gave him a long leash, and he always came out of it."
That said, BG said he's "got to get it fixed and produce when it matters." But there are no plans to bring in another kicker at this point.
Packers might be looking for a tight end once final cuts are made, Gutekunst says. Only have Musgrave, Kraft and Allen in that traditional TE role; Tyler Davis was a big loss, he said. Allen will "get an opportunity" to fill that role.
Brian Gutekunst says De'Vondre Campbell's ankle injury is "not a long-term thing." Anticipates he'll be ready for Chicago in Week 1
Going to be a warm and breezy night at Lambeau tonight.
Sounds like the dreaded vote of confidence prior to roster cuts. Or something brought up on the end of season highlights where the narrator mentions it before reviewing an 0-17 regular season.
Cautiously optimistic here. I know those ratings certainly won't hold in the regular season. If our D doesn't finish in the top 8 or so, that will be a major disappointment and reason enough to say goodbye to Barry. If the O finishes in the top 15, that would be fair with a first-year QB. If it ends up in the top 10, that would be a darn-near MLF miracle.
And yet - we are 1 and 1. We should be 2-0 with a top off & def.
The more depressing thought is that pre-season games are rarely an indicator of regular season success.

They are useful for watching individual performances within context, but for team performances, never.
We had a very highly ranked pass defense last year...

Looking more and more like Gary will be good to go week 1:

Matt LaFleur says Eric Stokes is not ready to be activated off PUP. He would not make any projections on whether Stokes will remain on PUP after rosters are trimmed to 53 players next week.

Hereβs a look at Rashan Gary ramping things up. He is expected to play in 11-on-11s today for the first time this training camp. #Packers pic.twitter.com/tDRUMINemL

Given the routinely sorry field conditions in Chicago Iβd hold him out till week two.

What? I already preordered my Super Bowl champion merchandise
Next rep, Jordan Love steps up in pocket to buy time and finds Romeo Doubs open breaking toward the right sideline against Rasul Douglas. Throws it across the field, in a place where Doubs can catch and run. Hell of an off-schedule play from QB1.

Packer fans will need to have their supply of TUMS on stand by this season. 1 for 5 today after a very good night against the Pats.
Growing pains
Anders Carlsonβs next 3:

51L: wide right
52R: wide right
53L: wide left
Bright side: He had plenty of leg for all 3.

Sam Shields was so much fun to watch.
I don't think GB leaves CHI with the win in WK01 but if they did, the headlines would write themselves. Can you imagine the third QB in a row owning that stadium, and his name is...Jordan?

There is no better example of this than our neighbors to the West.
The undisputed kings of preseason championships for over 50 years.
Yet nothing to show for it...
I'm going to say we beat the Bears at home, not necessarily because Love has a great game--he will do merely OK--but we are going to get three INTs and the D will take it home.
OL Jake Hanson (shin) has been waived injured. The likely end in Green Bay for the 2020 6th round pick. CB Elijah Hamilton takes his roster spot.
Team gave him every chance.
I wouldn't be shocked to see him signed to the practice squad after cutdown.
Or maybe they just like James Empey better.
While not direct Packers news, certainly Packers related considering their week 1 opponent. Bears OL is not looking very healthy heading towards week 1.
The one thing Poles hasn't done well is address the overall OL. Wright was needed but there were many good OL prospects between rounds 2-5 we passed on. Jenkins was guaranteed to miss time. Whitehair is getting old and missed time. Patrick isn't good. Davis hasn't been healthy.

Rest of that tweet: Darnell Wright -- limped off with ankle issue today
I don't think we need Gary to shred that line and plant Fields in the field.

Dangit, I meant to post this a couple of days ago and promptly forgot.
Some recent additions to the roster:
Packers sign LB Marvin Pierre
And as you posted,
CB Elijah Hamilton
For those that may remember, Elijah's Dad, Ruffin Hamilton, was a LB for the Packers in the middle 1990's.
Gotta say, you guys are adorable.

I'll bet it does. I've used similar products that made a difference.
I didn't realize that thing only blows air. The products I used you soak in water.
Sure looks like Rashan Garyβs knee feels good. Gary just beat Zach Tom with a speed move outside. Just ran past him. Tom ended on the ground. Gary stood where the QB would have been, pounding his chest.
