Carlson being the kicker is out of Bisacci's hands. Other than the miss, our ST's outplayed theirs today

Except that Bisacci worked with Carlson's brother when he was coaching STs with the Raiders and reports where that he lobbied hard to draft Anders Carlson. It cost them at least a shot at OT tonight.

SSDD with the Niners in the playoffs.  We continue to invent new and creative and frustrating ways to lose to those assholes.

You win and lose as a team, but man, that 4Q was not a good one for Love.

The missed FG was just icing on the cake.

The entire complexion of the game may have changed had Darnell Savage just caught the fucking INT and walked into the EZ.  10-0 lead to start may have sucked the oxygen out of that stadium.

That's an orginazational decision. Same as bringing in competition for him next year. Everyone knows what they're getting with a rookie kicker. Circumstances changed all our expectations. I know emotions are high, but that's the ride we signed up for.

I think he endorsed it. He was also responsible for drafting Carlson. The kid is a rookie. I think we can relax and give him another year.

You can't be a successful playoff team with the kicker who missed the most kicks in the league.

Maybe he turns it around next season, but if you enter the playoffs with a kicker like that again, it will cost you.

Very proud of this team and what it accomplished this season. Lots of ups and downs but more ups than I expected we’d see this season.  They didn’t play well enough to win tonight, but they didn’t shit the bed either.  They lost by three to the number one seed. This team has a bright future.

Did we have to stay competitive? Couldn't we just get blown out early? Now im looped and can't have edibles. .

Weed before beer, you’re in the clear.  Weed after beer, sick as a … deer?  lol, I hear ya.

Probably good for the Packers future salary cap though. He lost himself a lot of money.

This could be the equivalent of the 2009 Arizona playoff game, but I don't think it is.

I think this is more post-Holmgren Favre type games. Love is good enough to win you regular season games, but he reverted to form when the pressure was on. The knock on him in college was always that he had all the tools, was a great kid, but would make poor decisions under pressure.

Can we let him play more than one season before we pass judgement?!? Savor the moment for fuck sake, we came further this year than anyone predicted, let this team grow for fuck sake!

Two missed interceptions that were gift wrapped.

I said earlier in week if Pursy is picked they lose.    We dropped two of them!

It sucks when you know we had them beat but didn’t come up with the big plays.

defense did OK against this supposed power house and the former MVP but needed to com up with big plays and didn’t

Love was not as sharp and that last pass was desperation a few plays too early

Im not sold on Carlson.   I can even forgive a FG in a playoff but extra points?

No question this loss stings but no team has a brighter future than the Green Bay Packers

That changes quick. Every other team in the NFC is getting better and almost all of them have a better draft pick next year. It's a massive problem that our QB melted down with two brutal INTs in the second half. He played as bad as he has in the last 8 games with the season on the line.

True true but the kid has one year under his belt. Plenty of time to learn. If he wasn't in such a great system I would agree with you

Different year, different team, completely different circumstances... same result. Pack has been struggling to get over the hump for close to a decade and a half and it's frustrating. We've pissed away playoff games in just about every way possible during that time.

Losing to frickin' San Fran again just makes it an especially hard pill to swallow. It was ours for the taking and once again we came up small in a big moment.

Oh well, I'll be in a shitty mood about it until after the Super Bowl and then I'll move on. The routine has becomie all too familiar.

The problem is it throws a wrench in the negotiations if the Packers want to leverage their side of limiting his compensation. We're entering into the feelings affect performance stage of team building where the young guys realize all their sacrifice and dedication runs smack dab into the business side of the team negotiating in opposition to the big money dreams their agents have been telling them to stick in for.

It always affects the team and it's coming again just like it has before.

Well that sucked. As soon as Carlson missed with 6:30 left my son turned to me and said “Barry is going into a vanilla shell defense and let them bleed all 6:30 off the clock and score a TD isn’t he”. Me, “Yep”. Turned out his vanilla shell only needed 5:30 to give up the game.
Making it all worse. 99% of the SF fans said “great season. We dodged a bullet” as we filed out.
This game had a sickening “Seattle 2014” vibe to it all night.
GB should have won this game. F**K Joe Barry.

Removing the playoff context, this was a very typical game for the Packers, with some very common 'themes' that ran through it.
The most common is the defense fails. No matter what factors may have influenced the game, the bottom line is the defense gave up a lead--twice.

Another theme is the offense shitting the bed in the playoffs. Circumstances may be different, but the result is always the same. In spite of how bad they performed (compared to last week or even the last month), they scored enough points to win this game. They just didn't score enough to overcome what the defense gave up.

It was a close game between two closely-matched teams, but the Pack is just a tick away from competing with the heavyweights.

FWIW, I firmly believe that a win/loss never comes down to a single play, or a single player, for that matter. There are opportunities during the entire game that could change or affect the outcome. But unless they capitalize on them, we'll never know.
But we can damn sure argue about it!

Can't drop multiple INTs.

Same thing happened with Micah Hyde vs Kaepernick in Lambeau.

They had opportunities....sucks they couldn't get it done when it was so close. I always knew whoever won this game is winning next week too. Tampa will never play at that level and Detroit will make a mistake. They can't stop the Niners offense.

The clock ran to zero. No delay of game.

I hate to be that guy, but the refs are impacting this very close game too much.

Yes! That play where MLF had to throw the red flag, to challenge the spot of the ball, was clearly a 1st down. Another play, where McCaffrey was given a 1st down when he was stopped about a yard short of a 1st down, really was bad.  Also the play where Purdy was not out of the pocket and intentionally grounded the ball downfield, did not get a flag. The ref said he got out of the pocket, to which Wayne, rightfully, corrected him. Moaning about the officiating is so viking-like and I was willing to let it go., but when you add things up and look at how it affected the game, it is really aggravating.

You all are gonna sit back and pretend you didn't just see... what you just saw?

1st DOWN -  OWN 35 YARD LINE -  2  TIMEOUTS  -  50  SECS  LEFT ???

He throws it across his body into double (almost triple) coverage ?

Gonna just chalk that up to a "poor decision" ?

The Hyper-Bi-Transsexual Milk Man must be fucking everything that moves in your neighborhood... IF you honestly believe that Love just made a mistake.

You are not from the U.S. You are not Americans. You are pretending to believe "NFL Football" is legit. You come here, infiltrate our world, placed into positions of power and authority through fraudulent elections, and worst of all... pretend to believe football is "real" as a duty to your culture, to gaslight football fans. To keep them distracted, wasting time, watching scripted sporting events.

WALTER CAMP was a member of SKULL & BONES.

Love was trying to make a play.  That’s all I can say about it.

I do wonder though this offense was cooking and then Christian Watson comes back and outside of Doubs it didn’t look like the WR group was as crisp and precise.  It also didn’t look like SF respected Watson at all.  If he’s in there you have to get him downfield to at least pull coverage with him but that never seemed to transpire.

As for the officiating, well, the 4th and 1 spot was questionable at best and the intentional grounding and clock expiring play were significant because all three of those moments likely took points off the board.   Who knows maybe Purdy still does connect downfield with Kittle for a long TD or CMC still eventually scores but in a close game these are things we will think and talk about for sure.  But the refs have been garbage for a long time so what else is new.

Christian Watson was something  i was thinking about all game as well.   Like AJ Dillion i was hoping Watson would not play.   It seems like we were doing so well without him.   I don't know what the organization or Gutey is thinking for future but I would consider trading Watson.
