Keep DuBose over Toure, and Heath over Toure for sure, so it comes down to Heath or DuBose if they keep six. That is a tough decision. Heath is such a tough competitor with good blocking skills; DuBose probably has a higher ceiling. I hope that before final cuts they come to an agreement and sign whichever one to the PS with a fair contract. You can never have too many WRs in today's game.

Notice there hasn't been a single word about Toure this year when last year MLF was saying how much better he was...

Just a reminder on Dubose's highlight reel:

If there is a WR#6, it'll be this dude.

These are the highlights I saw when I said DuBose was as good as Reed, catching contested balls. DuBose needs to get playing time. Good luck, with that, with the talent they have, in that WR room. If they let Toure walk or if injuries occur, he may see the 53, but if I were DuBose, I would not hold my breath. Same goes for Julian Hicks, an UDFA, out of Albany.

It's just highlights but I thought right after the draft that his college highlights were better than Wicks's.  Yet unknown if DuBose can translate to the pros in the same way.

I think they'll give DuBose chances to produce.  Numerous reports from camp that he is catching everything thrown at him.   There will also be injuries at some point.

Yeah, that's what I see for WR, too. I'm pulling for DuBose. I'd like that 6th guy to have some real upside.

Toure is JAG

Yes he is

2 years 13 catches for 160 yards and 1 TD = $ 1,630,000 in earnings
( it would take 25 years to earn that much at $65k / yr)

Maybe being a JAG ain't so bad after all ?

The 6th WR will be someone that is important for the coverage/return units; I'm completely on board with ranking Heath/DuBose 6/7 and Toure 8.  If both Heath and DuBose are good players for ST, the Pack will keep 7.  The only way Toure makes the team is if there are 1-2 injuries.

The 6th WR will be someone that is important for the coverage/return units;

This was the case in years past, but I'm not sure GB will have 6 WRs active on Sundays. The link below shows snap counts by game and you'll see GB only activated 5 WRs each game in 2023. I don't think that changes in 2024.

Part of the reason is Bisaccia prefers defenders on his STs over WRs, so we see more Safeties & LBs on STs and fewer WRs.

Nice snap count...too bad nothing listed for OL - that is where I believe the spot would come from...but your reasoning is sound on Bisaccia's preference for tacklers.  I guess I'm maybe reflecting on the Favre years where WRs would have to tackle people 1-2 times/game.

Koopla- I pulled this one from the TC report from today, looks like they ARE giving 2 WRs some time as gunners in practice

"DuBose and Heath on the field at the same time as gunners.
(Just a walkthrough).
Who does that better could go a long way in determining WR6."

OK - 1 more post on WRs playing STs

Here's an article from ACME talking about the changes in personnel for STs under Bisaccia. He moved away from WRs and leaned into Safety's in a big way.
( based on snap counts)*

https://www.acmepackingcompany...h-bisaccia-2022-2021

"If you thought the Packers were playing more safeties on special teams last season, you weren’t imagining things. No position gained more snaps in that unit than the safeties, who went from the seventh-most-played position in 2021 (over 433 snaps) to the most-played position in 2022 (over 428 snaps.)"

I bet Goldie has a pot holder

Tucker Kraft returns to action:

"I'm on the field for a reason and that's because me, Gutey (GM Brian Gutekunst) and the sports medicine staff believe my injury is behind me," Kraft said.
"The rear-view mirror, we pulled that off the roof of the car. That's not there anymore. We're all boats ahead."

There's plenty of curiosity as to what Kraft and fellow 2023 draft pick at tight end Luke Musgrave can bring to the offense when they're on the field together, which was the case for less than 100 snaps last season due to injuries to both players.

One play Tuesday showed a glimpse, as QB Jordan Love threw a screen pass to Musgrave in the flat. One of his lead blockers? Kraft, who landed an effective block on safety Javon Bullard to spring Musgrave for a sizable gain.

"That was a play where things just went my way," Kraft said. "Sometimes you've got to improvise when you're out there on the field. It was like a homecoming play – applying technique in open space and finishing. So it was good."
