Martellus is a pretty cool cat as far as I can tell. I used to hear him on the Score with Bores and Bernstein a couple years ago. He has a unique perspective especially for a player in the NFL. He is a monster in the field. One of the best recent acquisitions the have Bears made.

It's hard to believe but as packerboi stated Wilson has been sacked more than anyone else.  That's pretty incredible when you consider his mobility and how many other crappy OL and QB there are in the league

People were waiting for Seattle to implode because they couldn't pay everyone?  I would say giving away their best OL for a pussy one dimensional TE is far worse.  Well played Seahawks!  Hope that Jimmy Graham deal was worth it.

Sometimes you can outthink and outsmart the situation.  That's exactly what John Schneider did in this case.
and, Wilson is a tool. He deserves to get sacked more.

Wilson 22
Smith 21
Kaepernick 16
Taylor 14
Mariota 14
Brees 14
Bortles 14
McCown 13
Pondwater 13
Rivers 12
Manning 12

There's your top 10 through week 5.

Maybe Green Bay could trade for him?

I caught a few minutes of this same thing on Pro Football Talk earlier tonight. Their analyst was diagramming some video replays showing how they attacked Chancellor.

There's no catchy name for this defense.

Yet.

A few more weeks performing as they have a new one shall be created.

Until then...

as good as any place I guess....

from pft:

Seahawks fullback Derrick Coleman was arrested in Bellevue, Washington on Wednesday on investigation of vehicular assault and hit and run and is being held in King County jail while waiting for a bail hearing before a judge.

The Seahawks announced Thursday that Coleman has been suspended indefinitely “pending further information.”

The Seattle Times reports, per the booking report, that Coleman’s pickup truck hit another car around 6 p.m. on Wednesday and that Coleman walked away from his car after the accident. Police found Coleman nearby, arrested him and administered a field sobriety test. Results of that test are not known and a law-enforcement source told the paper that the driver of the other car may have suffered a broken collarbone.

#Seahawks QB Russell Wilson has now thrown 10 interceptions in the last 3 meetings with the Green Bay #Packers.

Many are wondering, ala Favre in the early 90's vs Dallas, if the Packers are just psyching Wilson out when it comes to him facing GB. Maybe they're not giving Capers enough credit, but it sure seems like Russell Favre gets the heeby-jeebs with GB.

10 Picks?

There was a stat during yesterdays game that Russ' 5 picks were the most against GB in a single game since 2012. Against, wait for it.... Jay Cutler.

Jay gets extra credit because he threw 4 picks to GB twice. But the 2012 game gave us, "Same old Jay. We just need to be in position. Jay will throw us the ball" quote from Charles Woodson.

Russ Wilson 2016. 13 TDs. 10 INTs. $18.6 million cap hit.

Aaron Rodgers 2016. 32 TDs. 7 INTs. $19.2 million cap hit.

Proving once again you don't always get what you pay for.

Another religious/ high morals guy found to be less than honest with his charity. Shocking.

On Wednesday, serious questions were raised about Russell Wilson’s charity—known as the Why Not You Foundation—when a six-month investigation by The USA TODAY Network was published. The story, which sought out to investigate past Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award winners’ nonprofits’ ended up keying in on the Denver Broncos quarterback.

Wilson received the award in 2020, which is dubbed as the league’s most prestigious honor. It is presented for excellence on and off the field, with an emphasis on community service and philanthropy. Still, the investigation by USA TODAY found that Wilson’s organization reported it spent just 24.3 cents of every dollar on charitable activities in 2020 and 2021 combined and nearly twice as much, $1.1 million, on salaries and employee benefits in that span, according to federal tax records.

The salaries include more than six figures for an executive who also works personally for Ciara and Russell Wilson, which has nonprofit experts prodding.

The investigation states:

Form 990 federal tax returns from the nonprofit’s inception through 2021 show it reported $7.5 million in revenue and $7 million in expenses during its first eight years of existence. Less than half of the money — $2.8 million, or 39.6 cents of every dollar spent — has gone to charitable activities, all as grants to other nonprofits.

The remaining $4.2 million has paid for fundraising, administrative and management expenses, including the salaries of three employees, who have received $1.9 million combined. In 2020, the year in which Wilson was given the Man of the Year award, his foundation reported $838,000 in revenue and $1.2 million in expenses, including $257,000 on charitable activities and $548,000 on salaries and employee benefits. Meaning about twice as much money went to executives in the foundation compared to charity and only 21 cents of every dollar earned went to charity.

I just listened to an interview on Denver sports radio with the author of the USA Today article and went into more depth on the Walter Payton Man of the Year award.  He said there is a company out there that can be hired to increase your chances of being a finalist and winning the award.  And shocker, Russ hired this company.  The company doesn't really do anything to increase the philanthropy, it's more to market the philanthropy to win the award.

At best, he used his charity just to win awards and get adoration from the public.  At worst, it's an illegal tax scheme.  Either way, he's a POS.  Can't believe how far this guy has fallen in 12 months.

Broncos fans just have to be so livid with that trade and what's happened since. Gave up a ton to Seattle for a QB who's a shell of himself. And now also appears to be a shady fuck as a human being.

Sean Payton also told Russell Favre his personal coach/QB coach isn't allowed in the building anymore.

Jeebus

Those numbers are pretty bad but they're also not the worst. Most charities are shady as hell.

Make-a-wish I think is over 90 cents on the dollar going to the actual wishes, and I was reading an article about a sound-alike Wish charity that only spent 3 percent on actual wishes.

If you're going to donate, do some research, and don't just hand cash to some organization pestering you on the street.

Charity Navigator rates all non-profits.  https://www.charitynavigator.org/
They break down administrative costs, fund raising costs, and how much actually goes to people the organization says it is designed for.
