Interesting situation in NE.  Lots of Rumors Patriots will move on from Belichick.

With the second pick in the draft, they can get their franchise QB.  Do they give BB one more shot with a top pick?

Tepper will throw enough money around to get some “name” people but he is this generation’s Dan Snyder. The fish rots from the head down.

That franchise is fucked until that moron is forced to sell the team.

I mean, he does have his (second) wife interview draft prospects. He married her in 2019, so it's not like she's been around much and she has no background in football.

Having unqualified family members (male or female) participate in these processes is not going to get you taken seriously.

This profile and quote is actually from a puff piece written for the Teppers.

Mrs. Tepper also has been noticeably present as Carolina has scouted their next rookie quarterback. She has been present for most of the quarterbacks’ pro days, and there are tons of photos showing her meeting the prospects and their families. One can only assume she has also been involved in the one-on-one interviews with these quarterback prospects.

I wonder why Martindale is out there again? He left as DC of Baltimore after saying it "was time," and now he resigns from the Giants and word is there was a lot of friction between him and Daboll. He was with Baltimore for quite a while, but NY only two years. Is he so set on being a HC that he has conflicts with whoever is HC? Or, is it a case of his wanting to be a head coach so he's always seeing what's out there? Anyone have more insight?

I'm not so sure. Ron Rivera just turned 62 and some say the game has passed him by. Martindale is 60.  Doesn't  the same apply?

Dick Lebeau was 400 yrs. old and kicking ass on defense

Some thought Tomlin was on the hot seat mid season but how he got that team to 10 wins and into the playoffs is another coaching masterclass.

The smart play for Harbaugh is LAC.  They have an established elite QB with blue chippers on both sides of the ball.  And isn't he from Cali?  They'd build a statue of him if he took the Bears to a SB win but he'd be betting his most probably short tenure in CHI on Fields or a rookie QB.  Bigger risk, bigger reward but he's not the freshest face in the league and I would think he would want the surer bet.

Age is but a number. Watch their defenses and you can see who gets it and who doesn't. Bill Belicheck is 892 years old, and his defenses will mess you up.

I forget if I read it here or somewhere else but supposedly Harbaugh was talking to some other people and completely unprompted he just started talking about how great Justin Herbert is.

Getsy's been mentioned as a possible replacement for Clements should he retire.

I would question the true ability of any offensive coach that benefitted from having Rodgers as their QB. Has a Rodgers OC or QB coach moved on to have success elsewhere? Maybe someone has but I'm not thinking of one right now.

I wrote about that here on page 1, it happened at a funeral.

But it would be on brand for Raiders to ignore well-liked interim coach for a splashy hire that flames out.

I won't miss him.  But one less douche bag to root against.  Top 3 on my most disliked list, Siriani,  Campbell and Daboll.

His rah rah bullshit might make him a players' coach, but it also makes him look like he's never been there before, the way he overcelebrates everything. I won't miss him in the least. Campbell is a meatball, but I have to respect the way that team was built, even if it isn't sustained. Siriani can go piss up a rope. The only thing better than seeing Philly knocked out would be GB shocking the world. Hopefully both happen.

The difference between Favre and Rodgers in that respect was really interesting.

Favre's QB coaches in Green Bay included Andy Reid, Mariucci, and McCarthy (all took teams to the playoffs in multiple years) as well as Mornhinweg and Darrell Bevell (not so much success).

Rodgers' QB coaches were Ben McAdoo, Alex Van Pelt, Frank Cignetti, and Luke Getsy.

Clements coached them both. Favre had a late career improvement under Clements and Rodgers was a lot better with Clements than without.

One of the most innovated and successful defensive coordinators in history. A terrible winning percentages as a head coach (12-33 with the Bengals but his QBs were Akili Smith and Jon Kitna).

If I'm one of these hot candidates, I make sure I go to a team with either an established QB (Herbert), or I get a guarantee from the owner that they will go get someone that will provide a floor of 5-6 wins (go get Russell Wilson, for example).

Daniel Jones, Justin Fields, Desmond Ridder, Bryce Young, Sam Howell, Aiden O'Connell, and Will Levis are likely to get some of the people taking jobs this off-season fired in 2-3 years or fired next year (Daboll).
