Sure sounds as if Hoskins is picking up his option to be with the Brewers in 2025, from this no paywall JSO article. Also did not know he was coming off an ACL in 23. Sometimes it takes a player a full year after ACL recovery to really get back into the "swing" of things.

I'll believe it when I see it but I'm not holding my breath that MLB will let us watch many Brewer games.

I'm betting that even on MLB Network, local market control will dictate what teams games get aired, in my area. That means lots of Twins games, not so much for Brewers games, for Brewers' fans, in my area.

WTF does all that mean?  Are they still losing the Brewers?  Will the Bucks remain on this new service?  What do I have to do with my current Bally stream subscription.  Would be nice if Bally let us know....

Sheesh.

I don't know. We never got Bally Sports Wisconsin, over here, where I live because Xfinity did not carry Bally Sports WI, in their line up. I've read that the baseball deal with MLB Network has been done, so, the Brewers will be on MLB Network, this upcoming season. I don't know how many Brewers' games will be aired, as several other teams are also having their games aired on the MLB Network. I'm pretty sure that Brewers fans will get skewered, somehow, no matter where they live, in Wisconsin.

Brewers pitching coach, Chris Hale, signs a new contract to stay with the Crew:

https://www.jsonline.com/story...-season/75919137007/

"Hook, who has been with the Brewers organization in a coaching role since 2008 and served as the big-league pitching coach since 2019, has been at the center of the club's pitching excellence in recent years.

Since 2019, Milwaukee ranks fifth in Major League Baseball and second in the National League behind only the Los Angeles Dodgers in earned run average. The Brewers are second in that time in all of baseball in strikeouts, which is indicative of an effort on the pitching side that has been at the forefront of five playoff appearances in the last six years."

Cubs sign Crews 1st base coach, Quinton Berry, to be their 3rd base coach:

https://www.jsonline.com/story...go-cubs/75972871007/

"Berry, 39, is a former big-league outfielder who was best known in his playing days for his base-stealing ability. With Milwaukee, where he served as first base coach from 2021-24, he gained a reputation as an excellent base running and outfield coach. Players often credited Berry as being a key reason for their success on the bases, which included leading the National League in steals since 2021."

Rhys Hoskins exercises his player option and returns to the Brewers in 2025.

https://www.jsonline.com/story...brewers/75993100007/

"Hoskins, who turns 32 on March 17, was a reliable run producer for the Brewers with 26 home runs and 82 runs batted in over 131 games, and his three grand slams tied a franchise record. But his average sagged to .214 and his on-base percentage to .303, both career worsts, and Hoskins was also below-average with the glove at first base, accounting for minus-3 defensive runs saved."

He did miss all of 23 due to injury, so 24 was a get back in the swing of things season. Maybe his 2025 year will be better than last year?

He's not a complete liability, but he's going to make 18 million next year. He's really more of a 6-8 million a year guy.

A bit surprised about Peralta. I was 50/50 on them bringing him back or not. Not surprised to see Miller and Sanchez cut loose.

8 million for Peralta next year (and a club option for the same in 2026) is a great deal. In fact, it's one of the best contract values for a starting pitcher in baseball. He probably gets something like 5 years and 75 million on the open market (at least).

I’ve been a very vocal Peralta critic, but as a middle of the rotation guy he’s well worth the $8M.   The issue is you can’t pencil him in as a 1 or even 2.  He’s got good stuff but nothing elite.  Still, he’ll eat up innings and is a solid starting pitcher.

Assuming either DL Hall or Ashby turn it around and Woodruff stays healthy that’s probably 2 more starters out of that group of 3.   I would imagine they round out the rotation with a couple of their younger guys.  Especially Jake Mis or some combo of him or Gasser or Rodriguez.

For sure Peralta is a deal at 8 mil as far as pitcher salaries go. I think it's more a case of me not being overly impressed with his pitching last season compared to what he did 2 seasons ago. Maybe I'm just imagining things but I didn't see the 2023 version of Peralta in the 2024 season.

Yes. I think they have to see what the younger guys bring to the table pitching wise and to get some youth into the rotation/pen.

I may have missed it but what about Adames ? Can they afford to keep him or is he gone ?

He's going to get at least 5 years and 150 million. There are rumors Boras wants to get him 200 million guaranteed.

In other words, he's gone.

Matt Arnold named Executive of the Year. The awards just keep pouring in.  As for Adames, home town discount a possibility?  Maybe a long term deferred payment ala Ohtani?  That would Mark A some options like bringing in another minority owner.

If the link MP2 posted is correct then Adames is as good as gone. Adames picked a good year to have a great season. I wish him well but I have a feeling that he won't have near as good a season next year as he did this past season.

Brewers have some options to consider on the 40 man roster which currently sits at 36.  They have to make decisions to add Logan Henderson   https://www.mlb.com/prospects/...gan-henderson-701656  and  Chad Patrick who had a great  but unreported season at Nashville.   https://www.mlb.com/player/cha...minors&year=2024

They either add these 2 to the 40 man by Nov. 19th or possibly lose them in the Ruke 5 draft.
