The Bucks finished a game for the first time in a while. Lopez with a few critical plays on both ends down the stretch. Middleton stepping up in OT was critical after he disappeared in the 4th.

No team has ever won a series after being down 3-0. But a few have after 3-1. That’s how they have to look at it now. The Heat hit 17 threes and lost.

Miami will do something different. I don’t expect a Giannis to be there in game 5, and they need to play defense the rest of the series like they did in that 4th Q.

And not to even give credence to bullshit like β€œthey’re better without Giannis” but they do need to think about the critical importance of Middleton being more 1 than 2 on offense. He seems to have found his stroke, so with that he’s a more important player to get going on offense. Giannis’ issues are in his head- maybe he needs to just let go of that pressure of being MJ, and be the Robin on offense. Go get rebounds, loose balls, do the little things.

But there is a risk giving that amount of control to Middleton- he frequently tries to get cute and then is a fucking turnover machine. When the Bucks were moving, getting more baseline cuts (Hill got a few chances there), the offense broke free because everyone was involved. When Giannis is blasting into the paint and everyone stands around the 3 point line waiting for a pass, it’s stagnant.

I still don’t like the small ball lineup, but it looks like they’re staying with it. DJW can defend pretty well- maybe you give him some of Marvin’s minutes.
