For shame. Always thought you were such a good boy. You are a very naughty boy.

From AR's presser yesterday:
"To free up Randall Cobb, who turned in his least productive outing since 2012, Rodgers mentioned the possibility of moving Cobb around in the formations, or perhaps into the backfield, which generates separation inherently."
The Packers-Chargers game drew Walt Anderson's crew for officiating crew according to football zebras. Expect lots of yellow flags. His crew is near the top in flags thrown on the year (this is a week 4 reference, but 1/2 way down the page is summary of all crews). Expect balls to be fully inflated. Differently officiated game this week vs. a weaker defensive team, but a better QB. The Packers are the 4th highest penalized team in nfl in number of penalties.
I don't expect much from Cobb this game. I am expecting he will be blanketed by Jason Verrett just like he did Antonio Brown last week.
Michael Vick is the one who shut down Antonio Brown, not Verrett
Verrett is a very good CB - but he benefited greatly from the Dog Killa's reluctance to throw deep. And Antonio Brown isn't as shifty and multiple as Cobb is on Sunday
Rodgers-Cobb is way better than Vick-Brown
Green Bay - The following is a summary of Packers coach Mike McCarthy's pre-practice press conference Thursday:
- (On Richardson) It's not easy. That's a tough reality, think about everything he's put into it. Sean, you don't have enough Sean Richardsons on your team. He's a strong man.
- (On career threatening) Still working through some things.
- (On Perry) Report is he's advancing through process faster than anticipated.
- (On secondary) Played well, very well. It's been an adjustment. I think Ha Ha has played well. Chris Banjo has had some opportunites. Those other guys. And Sam is playing at his highest level.
- (On Chargers offense) Definitely matchup conscious. Ability for Philip Rivers to get to the scheme when he wants to. He and Aaron Rodgers have ability to command the line of scrimmage is at a highest level.
- (On without Burnett) We have a lot of good players. Communication a lot better. Guys on the same page. Fun to hear the interaction. Improvements made through off-season.
- (On Adams) Davante and Morgan scheduled to do more today.
- (On Perillo) Steady, smart, instinctive. Good athlete. He's definitely a valuable guy.
- (On Lang) So far so good.
- (On practice week) Been trying to take care of them on Wednesdays. We'll go pads today and get through the heavy stuff and then back off.
And that's it for McCarthy.
Raji?
I hope you are right, Satori. If Cobb were at full strength then I'd have more hope. That said, I think I'll check the All22 when I get some time.
Raji?
@WesHod: Mike McCarthy said Nick Perry (shoulder) and B.J. Raji (groin) advancing through injury process better than expected.
Couldn't help myself and checked out the condensed version of the plays where Vick threw to Brown. I'm still concerned about Verrett.
I'm still concerned about Verrett.
He's a very good corner and the Chargers are happy to have him. The Rams used blanket coverage with a CB and a Safety on Cobb and I suspect the Chargers will try the same.
We'll see what MM and AR have to combat that tactic
PUT HIM IN THE BACKFIELD!!!!!!!!!!!

from Rodgers interview today via JSO:
"To free up Randall Cobb, who turned in his least productive outing since 2012, Rodgers mentioned the possibility of moving Cobb around in the formations, or perhaps into the backfield, which generates separation inherently."
Thursday practice report from JSO (reporters only see a limited portion of practice):
Green Bay - The only new development on the Packers' injury front was the absence of DE Datone Jones.
The Packers won't release their injury report until this afternoon so it's not known why Jones was missing.
As coach Mike McCarthy predicted, WR Davante Adams (ankle) and G T.J. Lang (knee) were taking part in more work Thursday. Both were doing all the individual drills during the padded practice and seemed to be moving well.
Safety Morgan Burnett (calf) was also working and may be nearing a return after missing four games this season.
Nose tackle B.J. Raji (groin) and linebacker Nick Perry (shoulder) both sat out practice.
If the weather Sunday is anything like it was on the practice field, don't expect a lot of passing. Winds were howling from the north and blowing light equipment and clothing across the field.
It didn't appear McCarthy had any intention of bringing the team indoors.
speaking of injury reports, here's the latest on the Chargers OL
http://www.sandiegouniontribun...-dunlap-fluker-watt/
Two starters weren't present at practice. Two others participated in the team stretch but not in any drills during the portion open to media. A player who has seen more snaps than any other reserve on offense did not practice; he later was seen strolling the hallways of Chargers Park with his right foot in a protective boot.
Just another Wednesday for the Chargers' offensive line.
If it was week 10 or so, it's just another Wednesday for an OL as everyone is playing dinged... but after 5 games?
For those attending LA-LA-LA Lambeau this weekend, a special treat:
"Halftime entertainment will include the Oneida Nation Smoke and Social Dancers, performing dances to traditional earth songs that are centuries old"

Sunday's forecast:
Sunny & high of 54 with winds at 5 MPH
#Packers RB Eddie Lacy when asked about RB Melvin Gordon's transition to the NFL: "I honestly have no idea because I donât watch football."

Check out the latest playoff odds. We're favorite for #1 seed because Arizona had a much tougher schedule...

Nothing matters except what happens on the field.
On paper we should've won the Super Bowl like 5 other years
Favorite, Schmavorite. The proof is in the wins on the field & in the playoffs

Might as well be freezing to the Chargers.
Would be fun watching Phil Rivers' rocket ball throws in the breeze. Knucklers all evening.

that's awesome. this whitey finds great spirit in native drum, song and dance. powerful stuff. bodes well... and I'm bringing my wife - she don't lose. was so proud of her giving bores fans grief last year.
clearly you married well T-Dog
Concur on the native rhythms - kinda makes sense for the Indian Packing Company too
Enjoy the game and bring home the W

"Hey Ringo, play something hot. And you guys.....take some more lessons!"
Datone Jones' absence wasn't injury related. Jake Ryan promoted to full participation today. Bulaga, Cobb and Gunter were all limited

Chargers LB Manti Teo is nursing another injury so its likely that 2nd round ILB Denzel Perryman sees a lot of action on Sunday. His shortcomings as noted in the San Diego paper are in the passing game.
The defense is clearly legit. Todd Gurley is going to run for big yardage on a lot of defenses. Lacy is a good RB and the difference in talent between the two was startling.
The big thing that worries me about the offense is the lack of speed right now. There is no one getting any snaps that will scare anyone deep. Neither Lacy or Starks is a burner and watching Richard Rodgers play TE is like watching a slower version of Bubba Franks (without the blocking ability). Richard Rodgers is a good #2 TE, but he's not even in the same galaxy as the league's top TEs.
Agree. As I wrote in another thread I think that Eddie has slowed down quite a bit and has only one move (spin) and no interest in learning another. Perhaps, he thinks that his limited ability to catch passes out of the backfield will be enough. R. Rodgers just looks fat and slow and has even dropped an easy catch as of late.
The following is a summary of what coach Mike McCarthy of the Green Bay Packers said Friday morning during his press briefing:
--(If guard T.J. Lang would start) "We're definitely headed that way. He looked good yesterday in practice."
--(On a roster with 12 players listed on the injury report Thursday) "The injured players did more work yesterday (in pads) than we probably anticipated. We're going to play the game with a healthy football team. We'll have a healthy 46 out there, I can promise you that."
--(On ILB Jake Ryan, who has missed two games with a hamstring injury) "So far, so good. Watching Jake in special teams work yesterday, he looks good. We opened it up yesterday. That is what he needed to do."
--(On Davante Adams) "Getting better. Did more yesterday than we expected. Same with Morgan (Burnett)."
--(On Datone Jones) He returned to the team Friday after missing some time at mid-week "for a very positive personal moment," said McCarthy.
Speculation:
Datone about to get hitched??? Or maybe he's coming out of the closet
It was reported yesterday that Daton'e wife's was about to go into labor(water broke).
Just purchased his very own weed farm in Colorado?
@TomSilverstein: #Packers announce the expected. They have signed TE Mitchell Henry to the practice squad.
@TomSilverstein: Henry would have been on PS if Denver hadn't claimed him. Don't be surprised if he's on the 53 soon. TE Blake Annen cut from PS to make room.
@RobDemovsky: Packers signed TE Mitchell Henry to practice squad. Wonder if they would've put him on the 53, not Perillo, had he been available Wednesday.
Packers' beat writers seem as enamored of this guy as some fans are of Janis!.
.
Chargers get back one of their offseason FAs - kick returner Jacoby Jones who has been out a couple games.
