Do any of you think 12 to 18 months of rehab is possible on this displacement?
Edgar Bennett to blame for this? Good read. I'm not a doctor, but I did used to sell plates and screws to surgeons---I coulda got Clay wholesale pricing.
"The reason to get it to heal right is for 10, 15 years down the road so the person has a functional thumb that isn't in a painful arthritic state."
With his hamstring I don't think he'll make it that long.
CM3 could be playing in 13 days.
While their pass rush has been more than adequate with 11 sacks in the three games without Matthews, only one of those came from an outside linebacker.
Does it matter if they come from an OLB or ILB or DL or blitzing DB? They've won those 3 games...
I guess sacks from OLBs are better than sacks from DL.
Respect sacks.
So the 'rumors' are true. RT @WesHod: Matthews scheduled to have pins removed from surgically repaired thumb http://pck.rs/18DgYoO
A thumb injury derailed Clay Matthews season last year. Clay broke the thumb twice, and even when he tried to play on it, the sizable cast he wore clearly affected his ability to rush the passer.
In an interview with Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio, Clay updated how his thumb was healing:
Itβs been doing well. Iβve been getting physical therapy three times a week. Iβve been able to work out with a few limitations, but from talking with the doctors there shouldnβt be any limitations once next season rolls around. Itβs just been a pain because obviously you look at it, itβs just a broken thumb. But itβs such an aggravating injury for a pass-rusher, especially in the manner in which I did it twice and having to have it surgically repaired twice, it doesnβt make it for an easy offseason in recovery.A fully healthy Matthews is a beast and the good news for Packers fans is that the thumb that hampered Clay for too long in 2013 shouldn't be a problem next season. Here's hoping to Clay's speedy recovery!
A fully healthy Matthews

The stupid really does burn doesn't it?
- Steve PorterNo doubt he's a difference maker...when he's on the field, which isn't enough.
- Cory CollingsKeep him...he's overrated and a China Doll!!
- Rick FlayterAbsolutely. Then switch to a 4 ,3 defense and keep the big guys upfront. Use draft picks from trade to bolster secondary
- Matthew Heckhe's gotta get healthy he's eating to much cap to play half a season. whats he even worth? trade him for draft picks
- Brad VogelIf this happened I would say trade him to Carolina for Mike Tolbert and a 3rd round draft pick
- Jonah AndersonI say trade him for a safety and draft picks.
- Sai ThaoTrade him for a top 5 pick.
- Jim FredericksTrade him for some more 5th and 6th round draft picks.
can't fix stupid
