Enjoying listening to Chicago radio this morning. Fans and media are in a panic. Big question among them is whether they can even make the playoffs, which is pretty pathetic since 1 of their last three games is against the Cardinals, so really they only either need to beat the Packers or Lions to make the playoffs. Lots of people are calling for coaching change. Pretty funny stuff.

Interested to find out about Cutler. I haven't seen anything at all about the injury, so it wouldn't surprise me if it is negative.

People complaining about injuries, man, they have no idea.

Wonder what Capers will do about Marshall. TW played great man against Megatron, Marshall is a very similar player, so my gut tells me they will do the same against him, but I admit I kept waiting for Magatron to make a big play and never felt comfortable myself with the single man on him.

Little worried about Forte, he is a better runner than the Lions's guys.

As big as getting Woodson and Matthews back, getting Neal and (probably long shot) Wilson back would allow Capers to unleash a terror upon Jaay's house.

Getting Nelson back would pose big issues for a banged up secondary and linebacking core.

Wish Urlacher out, its time for Finley to show up down the middle of the field, they should effectively push both Safeties to the side lines and freeze the LBs with an effective running game. The middle should be there, Finley and dragging Cobb over the middle. Dump offs to Ryan Grant. All day long.
They are beat up almost as much as the Packers, but don't have the depth or (IMO) the coaching to overcome that.

We know about Urlacher (out yesterday and will not play vs GBP) and Jennings who did not play yesterday.

From the Vikes game they have the following notable injuries.

@BradBiggs
#Bears DE Shea McClellin suffered a sprained MCL. Hope is he will be able to play next Sunday. He did not return to the game.

@BradBiggs
#Bears CB Tim Jennings said he has to improve this week to play vs #Packers next Sunday. He is recovering from a dislocated shoulder.

@BradBiggs
#Bears QB Jay Cutler talked about leaving Sunday’s loss to the #Vikings with a neck injury.

#Bears coach Lovie Smith reviewed the latest injuries for the team following the 21-14 loss to the #Vikings. link
@adbrandt
Looked at NFL headlines from early October: "Packers could be outside looking in on playoffs!" and "Cardinals are for real!"

Back then GB was 2-3 and had just lost to IND who few considered a playoff team at that time, and the Cards were 4-1.

Since then GB has lost 1 while ARI has lost 9 since starting the year 4-0.
"...it certainly has been much tougher for the Bears to win when their defense doesn't score a touchdown. Over the past two seasons, they're 8-1 in games in which their defense gets into the end zone and 8-12 when their defense doesn't score. That's a pretty amazing stat that shows how dependent the Bears have been on their defense not only stopping opponents but scoring TDs."
McCarthy presser

‏@TyDunne
McCarthy: "Hopeful" that Matthews and Woodson will practice and play this week. No new information.

@TyDunne
McCarthy on inj: A tough part of our game. Hard to see players go through it. ...Our inactive list has taken care of itself last month.

@TyDunne
McCarthy on Barclay: He's getting better. Played better this week than last week. Very pleased with his progress.

‏@jasonjwilde
McCarthy: "When you start getting voicemails from people like Willie Davis, you know it's a big game." #Packers-#Bears

@TyDunne
McCarthy on Harris: "I like DuJuan Harris. Would like to get him in the game more. Would like to do more with him."

@TyDunne
McCarthy: "Would be nice to run all three backs for four quarters."

@TyDunne
McCarthy also says DuJuan Harris is "as fast vertically as he is horizontally."

@jasonjwilde
McCarthy: C.J. Wilson "is not as far as long as C.J. hoped" with his knee injury.

@TyDunne
McCarthy: If I was worried about statistics, I'd be pissed off here. We have nine wins.

@TyDunne
McCarthy on Shields: Great to have him back. ...Gets better with every opportunity.

@TyDunne
McCarthy on finding Harris: Personnel department does a great job. We talked about bringing him in. Go thru measurables, watch the tape.

MM: CJ Wilson not as far along as we would have hoped.

Well that sucks. Looks like he won't be playing this week. Also, "hopeful" that Woodson/Clay can practice and play this week? Sounds like there is still some doubt there. They need them for this game

Also, McCarthy on Lang/Nelson for this week

quote:
Mike Vandermause ‏@MikeVandermause

MM: I hope so, I couldn't tell you in terms of Lang and Jordy Nelson playing this week. Jordy said he's getting better.
More from McCarthy

@TyDunne
McCarthy: Wouldn't say we changed philosophy. Would love to be out there scoring points. But way last yr ended, changes the way you think.

@TyDunne
McCarthy: Offseason study was on how to be a more well-rounded team. Knew ST, D would be better. Play young players right away.

@TyDunne
McCarthy: You have to play to your strengths. Strengths in Week 1 may not be your strengths in Week 14.

@TyDunne
McCarthy on Lang, Nelson returning: Hope so. Talked to Jordy last night. He's getting better.

@TyDunne
McCarthy on Lang to LG: We'll see. ...We'll be ready for anything.
Why do I get the feeling MM plays injured guys only if he feels he needs too? Last week down 14-0 it was no panic MM just waiting for A-Rod to get tight and detoilet qb to cough up a couple turnovers and get on to next week. This week I sense MM is already banking 2-3 turnovers with/without jay cutler taking the snaps.

BTW, why are some of ewe using caps in reference to chicago, their players, or anything south of kenosha?

Sorry but kenosha is too close to illinoise.

wow, could be huge, especially if the weathers nasty Sunday.

Weather.com for Chicago on Sunday is sunny, high of 39 with a 9mph NW wind. IOW, a beautiful day for this time of year.
From BSPN:

quote:

Running back Michael Bush only got two snaps because of a recurring rib injury that had left him questionable for the game. That is one of an inordinate amount of injuries the Bears are dealing with for their key people. Cutler might miss some practice time this week. Bush obviously had a setback. Receiver Earl Bennett is trying to come back from a concussion. Linebacker Brian Urlacher has a hamstring injury that could keep him off the field for the rest of the regular season. The same goes for cornerback Tim Jennings' shoulder injury. Place-kicker Robbie Gould's calf strain might necessitate reinforcements. Rookie defensive end Shea McClellin suffered a knee injury Sunday that prevented his return. Two of the Bears' best special teams players, Craig Steltz and Sherrick McManis, left Sunday's game because of chest and knee injuries, respectively. That's a long list of ailments for a team that needs to win
