Alma mater.  He could play rugby with me.

I had two uncles and a sibling graduate from there. Grew up about 30 miles away. A lot of high school events there. The highlight was always eating the buffet at Ponderosa.

There have been some very accurate Catholic high school QBs. Mertz has showed no ability to be consistently accurate at all.

I was on a roll and you killed it.

I’m not giving up on Mertz.  He’s got a makeshift OL in front of him. No threats on the outside ( Dike and 86 have potential but aren’t there yet ((God, I hope Pryor and Davis come back))).

I still think he has the talent to be a great QB.

I'm not giving up on Mertz either, he showed what he could do early in the season.  Hoping that a regular season will help him progress.  But it just is hard to watch at times!

He has the physical tools in terms of arm strength and running ability, but you do worry about accuracy. The lack of your top WRs doesn't explain overthrowing Ferguson by 5 feet on short passes today (or the underthrows and overthrows of open guys in other games this year).

How long before Jim Leonard is gone to NFL????

Well, I still stand by the Defensive backfield was shit.  The two INT's were outstanding, but not a great game or year from the corners and safeties.
