Today was the first full day of UEFA CL qualifying, so it's probably the right time to start a new thread.

Hungarian giants Ferencvaros were held to a goalless draw in the Faroe Islands in a stadium more scenic than most:

Meanwhile, in Malta, the fans were dicks to Maccabi Haifa but the Israelis still won 4-0.

It's too bad I didn't have an excuse to use the Hungarian ő, just to piss Chongo off.

On the other hand, I could have used the voiced dental fricative eth, since Breiðablik from Iceland were playing.  (They beat Shamrock Rovers 1-0 in Ireland.)

That's the rumor but he was offered a 2 year deal to stay at MCFC. Guy still has pace to burn, but at some point it's gonna go. City need to move on from him but not sure they are currently ready...

A bigger story...Ben Mendy was found not guilty by another jury on rape charges. He's missed 3 years of his prime...will be interesting to see where he lands. Doubt it will be in England...my guess is he goes back to France or does an image rehab stint in Saudi.

They are tired of bringing the Oil Money to England, so they are just going to bring the players to the Middle East!

Mbappe knows if he goes there and gets hurt, his dreams of playing at RM may be done and dusted. He's no fool.

His team is going to try to force the move to Spain a year early.

Apparently, if he's still on PSG's books on August 1st he gets a loyalty bonus of $60m.

"LOYALTY"!

Not a fan of European clubs touring Asia...time difference makes for complicated kickoff times. At least Japan is a modern country...few years ago when City went to China they had several matches called after a few minutes because either the pitches were so poor, or the air pollution was hazardous.

Spurs had their match called off on Sunday due to a waterlogged pitch. With a new manager playing a totally different style, they need games.

Hellooooo! It's Lionel Messi! You can't just let him run free behind you like that! Keep him in front of you! Sheesh. Didn't the defenders learn that in kiddie soccer? Ay, yi, yi, that was brutal defending.

The Harry Kane saga is getting comical. Bayern made their "final offer" yesterday for Harry Kane. They set a deadline of midnight for Spurs to accept or decline it. Not only did the deadline come and go without a word from Daniel Levy, but this morning he went on vacation.

EDIT: Latest news? It's a 2 week vacation. Not sure I believe that, but that sounds like a Daniel Levy stunt.

Is Harry Kane taking a darkness retreat, or a ghee cleanse?

Good question. The latest? That “final offer” by Bayern? REJECTED!🤣

Bayern don’t appear to understand they are not going up against Kaiserslautern.
