The game plan early.

Perry, Mathews, Fackrell et all kept the pressure on Ellie all night, and the run D was stout.

The offensive line was impregnable.

Randall Cobb came up huge tonight. Eddie was really gashing them before he got hurt.

_

Drops...drops...more drops

James Starks with two brain farts.

The special teams. We need a new punter. Badly. At this point, I'd take 45 year old Craig Hentrich over what we've got.

Pluses

O-Line...stellar; Josh Sitton who?  Coaches and TT made the right call there

Cobb and Adams

Lacy

Nelson's crossing pattern catch in the 4th quarter:  This was a staple play in past years...not anymore, why?

Negatives

Sloppy unimpressive win; A better team may have beaten the Packers

WRs cannot get open.  With all the time Rodgers had, someone should have gotten wide open.

Rodgers missed some again.

Refs: Bad hold call on Bocktee; The second INT touched the ground

MM should have challenged the second INT

Nelson muffed the pass for the first INT; Couple drops too

Starks???  Cant figure him out.  Seems erratic and chaotic when he runs.

Starks fumble

Special Team

Punting was weak:  Twice the returner had to move 10 yards to try and catch the ball.

Stupid penalty by Janus.

Poz:

Eddie Lacy. He rushed at 7.5 yards a clip. His power and speed is looking much like 2013/14

Cobb: Over a 100 yards receiving and really battled. He needed a game like tonight.

OL: Josh who? Again, the Packers OL playing lights out. Rodgers with plenty of time and holes are there for the run game

Neg:

Rodgers, Jordy and the Bye: This is a rare moment where IMO the bye week was harmful to Nelson and Rodgers. They had a good rhythm going in week 3 and a week off didn't help. Jordy looked rusty all over again.

MM and the run: Once again, great opening drive with a great mix of run and pass and MM reverts back to Rodgers scrambling and sandlot football. There is just no need for it. You are seeing what works. Stick with it. There is no shame in long, grinding drives that keeps your rookie CB's off the field.

Punter: Really, I can't see where Ginger is worse. TT muffed this move. There will be a game where special teams and punting cost GB a game.

I think the front 7 is incredible. Dominant. Deep.

The secondary is still a mess. They let NYG back in the game. They're fortunate that Manning was chucking the ball over guys' heads. And they still aren't making the plays that are there- game changing plays.

We saw the same things we saw all season. It's a miracle they're 3-1, it really is. The front 7 is the principal reason that's the case (and the flashes of the offense as well). Until this secondary starts playing ball, they're derailing their championship opportunities.

This Defense is for real folks.

With backups we shut down a good receiver group.

O still has hiccups and losing Eddie was not a good thing.  Starks needed some reps and he almost gave a chance to lose the game.

Teachable moments.

No matter what, GREAT WIN!!

I forked your reply from the Game thread into starting this thread for the +/-

+

Win, OL, Run defense, Lacy

-

Drops, Tipped balls for INT, Poor throws by Aaron

PUNTING! EFF YOU! Get the hell outta Green Bay!

injuries to Cobb, Banjo, Lacy

Lost some cash on the over

I was rooting for the Giants to tie it up so I could get the over in OT (O/U = 48)

+

Lacy

Cobb

Run defense. Pass defense got a huge assist with a terrible game from Manning.

-

ST (other than Crosby).TT royally screwed up the punter move and Zook has plenty to clean up from that game.

AR  was off again and a generally lackluster offensive performance in the second half.

Drops by receivers

Pros:

+ Pass protection.   Haven't seen protection like that in a long time.

+ ILB's.  The only flaw was the TE down the seam.  Once we bit on PA and paid and once we got lucky.  I think I might be in love with Thomas.

+ OLB's except Pepperes.   Perry might be the best player on this defense right now.   Clay keeps doing his thing and Fackrell showing he can rush the passer in this league.

+ DL.. You cannot run between the tackles against Daniels, Clark and Guion.

+ The wizard put together a winning game plan.   He got creative with his S's at the right times and used them to take away the deep threat at the right times.

+ Phat boy was in the zone tonight.. Unfortunately we didn't ride him and then the ankle.  Hopefully it's not serious because Starks looks lost out there.

+ I can't believe it, but Te' Adams was huge tonight.  He broke up two INT's, made an outstanding play on the TD and had a couple other big catches.  I do have concerns about getting separation though, see negs.

Negs:

- All day to throw but only Cobb could separate tonight.  That guy playing Jordy was like white on rice and that left the other WR's with scrap heap guys covering them.. Cobb took advantage, but Adams didn't do enough considering circumstances.   I know, I'm a hypocrite for having her m in both sections.

- I think we missed Cook this game.  We need another athlete that can get open within the offense and MM refuses to turn to Abby over Adams.

- Rodgers reverts back to happy feet and even worse, is turning the ball over at an alarming rate.   2 picks tonight, one wasn't on him but Adams saves him from 2 more.

- Special teams performance and penalties were brutal.  Cost us a lot of field position.

- Starks looks bad.   I'm not calling for his head, but if Eddie is out a while we better hope we can get his **** together.

- Jordy had a rough 3 quarters after the incredible diving TD.

PackOly makes a good point.  It seems the timing is still a bit off.  Or AR is mentally second guessing when to throw at what point of the break.  All we can hope for is that the AR gets over the yips and relies on his instincts without thinking too much over a situation (but still thinking more than BrInt would think...I think!).

Another minus

In past years, the Packers have come out after the BYE and dominated.  Last year after the BYE, the Broncos crushed the Packers (who never rebounded) and then tonight the Packers looked sloppy on offense (except for the OL).  And the Special Teams was shoddy too.

To be fair, the team that spanked us coming out of the bye went on to dominate the rest of the league, and won the Super Bowl.

Nothing physically looks wrong with Aaron. I just don't think that even a few weeks of game play + practice is enough to get completely in sync. Receivers and TEs had, what, 4 or 5 drops tonight? I just have too much confidence in Aaron to think this is going to continue much longer. The guy is as competitive as anybody in the league, and I guarantee Aaron's the least happy person in 'sconsin right now with her performance.

In all seriousness, I do not miss Josh Sitton one bit. This O-line is a beast so far.

Rodgers wasn't great tonight, but it wasn't enough to cost the team a win. If this is the one game a year where he looks average, I'm ok with it being this one.

3-1 Mo'Fos.

I hate to say this, my boy friend looked terrible for the most part, and it isn't just one game.....he's been off for how long again??

The defense really is something to hang your hat on and Rollins and Gunter need to be a steady part of the rotation when Randall and Shields come back.  All those young guys need the live fire testing.

Rodgers continues to be inconsistent.  This team just cannot get all cylinders firing at the same time.  That is the story of this team over the past few years.

They have a solid defense and solid running game.  At this point these are the aspects of the team they need to ride.  Rodgers and the receiving corp will have to decide when preseason is over and ****ing pull their heads out.
