This team is the 2002 Milwaukee Bucks. Total letdown.
Absolutely pathetic.
Terrible tackling
The RBs have 23 carries for 140 yards and somehow we decide to put the game in Hornibrook's hands?
Hornibrook hasn't even been hit. The protection has been excellent.
Everyone was ready to crown Jim Leonhard and Paul Chryst after last season. Needless to say they have come down to earth a bit this year.
Coan....oh goodie
So now they think about putting in Coan? They basically blow the game and then put him in? Not a good set of decisions by Chryst. He looks like an idiot today.

The defense has been decimated with injuries and is holding their own. Giving up 13 points in 3 quarters should be good enough to beat a lousy Minnesota team.
The offense has every preferred starter except for Cephas.

No one else has shown they are capable
The coach has to hand him the ball. He decided he wanted to showcase Hornibrook.
ugly, end of 3
Minn- 23
Wis- 7
Gotta love the 3rd and 9 throw underneath for 4 to your slowest RB.
Inaccurate Hornibrook passes, ignoring Taylor, and defensive inability to stop the run about sums it up. I have been watching the game while doing other things.
At least 3 easy drops today..Davis and Taylor. Catch those and this game may look different.
If anything good comes out of this, it should be that under no circumstances should Hornibrook start another game for the Badgers. They've had drops and other players make mistakes, but when you play a guy like Hornibrook it dampens the enthusiasm of every other player on your roster.
Hornibrook seems like a good kid and it isn't his fault he isn't good enough to be a good Big 10 QB. He'll be 23-5 as a starter after this game, but I would bet there are 200 college QBs on rosters out there that would have similar records. He's had one game (against Miami in the bowl last year) that I thought he was a major reason they won.
7 years of Joel Stave, Bart Houston, and Alex Hornibrook. Those 7 years have had 26 guys drafted from those teams (plus the guys from this team). What a waste.
He was good n last years BYU game too
This one is over.

1 out of last 2 BYU games isn't bad.
And he's been doing all this against defenses with at least 8 guys in the box all the time to stop one of the best rushing attacks in the country.
Do they get booed off the field?
Hate to see that for a bunch of 20 year olds, some of them playing their last college home game, but this has been a program-changing game and season in the negative sense.
Gophers were the better team...their O line pretty much dominatedwithout much of a passing threat .
This has been quite the disappointing season...O line even tho they gain yds has not really been all world, special teams were shaky, D was hurt, coaching seemed to be lacking, too many slooooooow starts. Need a QB and to get back to fundamental, Wisconsin football.

Ya think??? And terrible tackling moves right up into the NFL as well....... my biggest gripe, HORRIBLE TACKLING
This is setting up for a Hornibrook pick 6 to send the scoring.
Now we get to see PJ Fleck row the boat with the axe.
Chryst does remind me of MM. Good, solid coaches that do the same thing over and over. When it works it's great. When things go south, there is no ability to adjust during games whatsoever.
Inside slant AGAIN, Minn has killed Wis with it all game long.

It's 90% the QB. Put a good QB on this and they win against Northwestern, BYU, and Minnesota. They give Michigan and Penn State a run as well.
It's hard to underestimate how bad the QB play has been this year.
Door is open....
wish we we had a QB
They had a program historic defense the last 3-4 years. A transcendent RB in Taylor. Good WRs in Davis and AJ and #3. A really good kicker.
And a really mediocre starting QB.
For all the kudos the coaching staff has gotten in the Chryst era they need to own this abysmal season. Worst season I can recall given all the expectations.
I pray to JFC Mertz is the real deal as this is a 7 or 8 win team if heβs not. Hooray
Hornibrook puts the icing on the cake
Hornibrook is just awful at this point. He looks like a guy who is playing his first college game.
They are getting their asses kicked at home by a bad Gopher team.
The door is open? Only if Aaron Rodgers makes a cameo appearance
How does a 3rd year QB regress this badly? Poor pocket presence, can't read coverages, poor decision making. He's got it all.
Got to be the worst game I've seen for awhile. No effort by Badgers allowed this ass whoopin. See yah axe. Glad I multi-tasked to get some bills done today.
Losing is one thing...this is embarrassing. Can't wait for the meaningless bowl.
This team was not prepared to play. That is on the head coach.
Ammo needs to remove that stupid ass βax owed for 14 yearsβ bullshit
Weβve beaten so many much better Goopher teams. This is like 1994. Jim Wacker defining moment. **** us

Maybe the First Responder Bowl?
2018[6]:
NOTE: Bowls submit preferences to conference, and conference actually assigns schools to bowls. Other than the Rose Bowl, all Big Ten bowls have agreed to have at least five different schools in their bowl over the 2014β19 contract cycle. Also, no school will appear in same bowl back-to-back years.[7]
- #1 College Football Playoff. Champion goes to Rose Bowl if not selected for playoffs. The Rose Bowl gets filled by a Big Ten team if champion is in the playoffs
- The Citrus Bowl versus SEC
- The Outback Bowl versus SEC
- The Holiday Bowl versus Pac-12
- The Music City Bowl or the Gator Bowl versus SEC. From 2014β19, the Music City and Gator will each get Big Ten team three times. No Big Ten will appear in either bowl more than once each.
- The Pinstripe Bowl versus ACC
- The Redbox Bowl versus Pac-12
- The Quick Lane Bowl versus ACC
- The First Responder Bowl versus C-USA
Good news is I can now wipe the stink off that 1994 debacle. Sat in Camp Randall for that nonsense.
Do Horni's long passes quack in the air?
Hornibrook with his 33rd career interception.
