The NFL tried to sit that jackass down for 10 weeks. An arbitrator thought that was excessive.

Now Dallas is doubling down on "Greg is just a damn leader" by saying they hope to extend his contract sooner rather than later.

I hope they do. I hope they give him $50 million guaranteed. I hope it happens this week.

If there's anything that trips a trigger switch on a volitle meathead like Hardy faster than repetitive enabling, I've never seen it.

No such thing.

The amount of enabling and protection going on for this piece of garbage is dumbfounding.

Sadly, it's just Exhibit A#23904 for how corrupt and for the lack of a better term "immoral" sports are these days. Hell, Penn State got its sanctions for protecting a known child rapist lifted after what...two seasons? There are no sacred cows.

Not just the Cowboys but the league.

@RapSheet: Worth noting after @DianaMoskovitz’s report on Greg Hardy: @NFL saw most of the photos & suspended him 10 games. Reduced on appeal

More troubling yet are the prosecutors and judges involved. Shame.

SHAME.

For the most part Deadspin is a fun little blog full of gasbaggery and low brow dude humor.

But, Diana Moskovitz is a ****ing relentless badger when it comes to reporting and this is some epic reporting.

Its not like we're learning anything new about Hardy. Him blowing up on the sideline and slapping a clip board out of a coaches hand was just another example of how crazy insane and unstable he really is.

But Jerry knowing all this. Seeing Hardy act that way on the sideline. Then calling him a real leader? Jerry doesn't give a crap about morals. Or women. Or character. Or integrity. He's just a demented ****.

Teams will never blackball these guys. Teams will always sign guys like Hardy and Guion. The NFL has to be the one that tells these guys, youre no longer eligible to be part of our league. Get lost.

If images and a report like this did surface about Guion, would GB stay in his corner? I'd like to think no but I honestly don't know.

LOL, love Tom Crabtree.

Steven A Smith has been in Floyd Mayweathers back pocket since 2010. He's not about to turn coat on another woman beater. Greg Hardy is cushion seat change. He has a future with Floyd. Protect the money.

ESPN plays a tap dance every week with the dicks they have on the payroll.

Hardy really is one of the elite criminal douchebags in the league today.  He's in the Lawrence Phillips category.  Bravo!!!

Until the league takes a stand and kicks these guys out of the game nothing will change.  Good luck

No shame on the prosecutors/judges.

Hardy's "girlfriend" (or was she Nelly's "girlfriend") took Hardy's money in exchange for dropping her Civil lawsuit and promising not to testify against him.

I doubt the parties involved are capable of shame.

You aren't very aware of why women often stick with their abusers, or don't press charges, or keep coming back, or take the settlement instead of going through a trial, are you?  Maybe you should learn more about this before implying that the "girlfriend" was just looking for money.

No legal expert here but come on.

When the victim refuses to corroborate what you believe took place in those pictures (and I have no doubt you are 100% correct about what happened), then no prosecutor I know would proceed with the case.

Remember, Hardy claimed self-defense & without the "victim" testifying otherwise, no way you get a conviction based on a beyond a reasonable doubt standard.

Hardy is a rich turd buying his way out of a conviction.

I submit the fact that the "girlfriend" took the $ in return for her silence after the prosecution had expended considerable time and resources prosecuting and getting a conviction (later overturned) reveals quite a bit about her character and why she was involved with Haryd (or was it Nelly?) in the first place.

Please enlighten me/us all, because I was just discussing Hardy's case with a friend who has prosecuted sex crimes/domestic violence cases in another Southern city with a NFL team since the 90s, and she takes a much more strident view on the matter than I do.

Prosecutors in high-profile cases like this one, where they will face an inevitable backlash, spend a lot of time ensuring that the victim is serious about moving forward before prosecuting.

Don't get me wrong, there is only one victim here and it is not Greg Hardy.

But don't think for a moment that this victim did not hang the prosecutors in this case out to dry by abandoning them after the first trial.

Hardy is scum; always has been, always will be.

No sympathy for the girl he beat up; she's a whore.

Stephen A. Smith is a racist, woman-bashing lowlife. If he wasn't the skinny punk he is, he would be a woman beater.

Why people don't rail on espn like they do the NFL is something I don't understand. SAS, Ray Lewis, Chris Carter...EVERY one of them are racist. Or criminals. Or both.

Damn straight!

It should be open to all x4 posters and we should collectively drive that little ****ing blue bird into the ground.

I think the player's union (which got Hardy's suspension lowered from 10 to 4 games) needs to realize that sometimes the players are wrong and that they shouldn't fight for them. Common decency.
