@JayGlazer: BREAKING: The JETS have just agreed with Seattle to a trade sending WR Percy Harvin to NY for conditional pick. FOX SPORTS has learned.

Holy crap! The backstory will be most interesting...

Helps the Packers so I'm all for it.

@AdamSchefter: Seahawks traded WR Percy Harvin to Jets, as @JayGlazer reported. Seattle felt Harvin was not a fit there.

@WesHod: John Schneider/Pete Carroll cutting their losses with Percy Harvin, who had done next to nothing since his 100 total yards against #Packers

I know he doesn't show up for most games. But when he does show up he is very decisive. Think the Seahawks will regret this come playoff time unless he's messing up the locker room somehow.

“He’s too fast not to use deep,” coach Pete Carroll said

Jets couldn't get open past 5 yards last night. Don't know if Harvin changes that, but at least he'd give them a legit deep option.

Percy can't happy with this. Not like he really had a choice but goes from SB contender to the basement of the league.

I suspects the headaches and vaginal strains will return toot sweet.

@adbrandt: The Seahawks gave up a #1, paid Harvin $14.5 million last year and $3.9 million this year, only to move him now.

@RapSheet: Percy Harvin has no more guaranteed money due to him after this season, though he’s to earn $41.5M over the next 4. A tryout for him.

@adbrandt: The Jets take on remaining balance of $11M guarantee this year, approx. $10M/year after this year, none guaranteed. NFL mirage deal.

This does clear cap room for Wilson next year and beyond.

If the Jets had anything close to a .500 record, I guess you could see why they'd make this trade. At 1-6, wtf's the point?

This points way more to Schneider wanting to dump an expensive locker room problem.

Harvin is notoriously difficult to work with. It's no secret. @TomPelissero has done a good job documenting it over the years.

Seattle OC Bevell was with Percy in Minny too  - he knew exactly what was coming and they cut the cord. Adding to Brandt's comments:

Bill Barnwell‏@billbarnwell :

Seahawks traded 1st/3rd-round picks for Percy Harvin and came away with 10 games, 27 catches, 322 yards from scrimmage, and 2 TDs.

They paid Harvin $18.25 million for those 10 games.

WOW

Didn't he have a game where he had two touchdowns called back on penalties?

Imagine, dude must have more issues upstairs than even a guy like Randy Moss had.

In the MNF game vs. Washington a couple of weeks ago he had three TDs called back.

@LanceZierlein: Heard “anger management” had quite a bit to do w/ Harvin’s departure in Seattle.

@LanceZierlein: History of confrontations w/ teammates contd in SEA according to my guy including punching G Tate during SB week & near fight w/ #3 in ‘14

@LanceZierlein: I was told “Harvin’s anger issues are just too much to deal with and he could single handedly bring down team chemistry”. Wow. Unreal.

@LanceZierlein: I was told “Go find a team picture from Super Bowl and you can still see part of the black eye Tate got from Harvin"

@LanceZierlein: @Patchmc42 Things got a little funky when Wilson challenged him about his attitude.  I was told SEA was worried about Wilson after that.

@LanceZierlein: Here are two tweets I just got from NFL personnel guys: “Literally heard minutes ago what you tweeted. Crazy. Jets didn’t do their homework"

@LanceZierlein: Also got this text minutes ago: “Seattle just suckered the Jets. That GM is clueless”.  Yikes.

He had 3 TDs wiped out by penalties. I don't think he got many touches in the Dallas loss either. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he started mouthing off a bit.

I just think this is a simply preemptive strike by Schneider to clear cap space for Wilson. Percy was leaving at the end of this year anyways. Seattle gets one of its picks back this way.

This does weaken Seattles offense though. He was their top WR target. Big threat on jet sweeps.

He's an all-time turd.

Remember when Coach Kick-Ass openly crowed about fleecing Bellichick when that draft-day trade was done?

His meltdown on a poopship like the Jets will be nothing short of spectacular to watch.

Harvin was good in the Super Bowl. Had runs of 30 and 15 and returned a kickoff for a TD.

Rex Ryan is panicking and you can't blame him. unless he goes at least 7-2 he's gone. Where else is he going to get a talent like this?  Harvin in NYC is a time bomb in terms of the media and the nightlife.

Just being honest. I have zero issue with Harvin taking a swing at Tate. Hope he got him a few times.

Ive got a few responses for the Golden Tate/Black Eye pic but I'm just going to go ahead and bury those way down deep and move along.

Yep. And the circus known as the NY media will surely poke plenty of sticks into his cage to see how soon before he pops off.

Which based on past behavior, shouldn't take long at all.

You're an effin tease. Go figure.

Give me the players you're tired of, the poorly adjusted, the ruiners of huddles, massive asses yearning to be seen.  Give me the wretched refuse of team-wrecking misfits, sure to ruin a season. Send these, the homewreckers, the temper-tantrumed, to me.   I lower my amount of draft picks and leave hope beside the door.

Jets / Vikings really is a spectacular comparison.

Until the past decade or so, the Vikings did have a great deal of success during the regular season (they still presently have more NFC Central/North division titles than the Packers). The Jets on the other hand have basically sucked in the regular season and playoffs ever since Super Bowl III.
