I would think info from today would be more pertinent considering that's the contract that needs to be agreed upon.

The Packers controlling the contract and Rodgers actually playing generally offset each other.  The word "concessions" doesn't get thrown around because the Packers have iron fisted control over a situation considering the scrambling going on right now.

Edit:  I don't care as long as he's back with a legit shot at a Super Bowl.  My absolute loathing of the FO will not change.

They didn't magically agree to everything today.

The Packers controlling the contract limits where and when for his next gig. He just now has a say where if they decide to move on after '21 or '22.

After winning it all next year, they run it back in 22.

In the second Super Bowl he throws the winning touchdown as time expires while getting hit by 9 defenders and breaks every bone in his body.

He retires and nobody worries about '23.

In the end, the Packers still have a lot more control over this situation than Rodgers so I’m not sure the NBA comparisons are valid.

I mean, Kahwi (Spurs),  Jimmy Butler (Wolves), AD (Pelicans), Kyrie (Cavs and Celtics), and most recently Harden (Rockets) basically forced their way out and essentially got whatever they wanted in return.

There’s also the issue of contracts that have voidable years at the players option, which isn’t something that really exists in the NFL in terms of how contracts are structured.

The only way Rodgers can get over is if they basically rework his deal and allow him to become a UFA in 2022.  If that happens, then every single person in the Packers front office should be fired tomorrow.  Some may argue that should happen anyway - co sign Hank.

My guess is (similar to Paul George and OKC) they probably came to a conclusion that if 2021 doesn’t go the way they all want then the parties will facilitate a trade next offseason that’s mutually beneficial for both parties.   The Packers simply cannot allow him to walk and get nothing back in return.

Oh gosh....I sure hope Coach Chilly picked him up from the airport.

With all due respect, I would send Giannis to pick AR up.  He could at least explain to AR what it takes to win a championship.  All Chilly would tell him is to run around until someone gets open.

I think Rodgers already knows.  It's a commitment from the FO to fill the the team with as much talent at possible to win when the window is open.  Plus, don't be a bunch of dumb fucks.
