my contract was up this last May so I called to ask about any deals they could offer me to renew, talked to someone in retention, which is the key. They gave me $200 visa gift card and upgraded my equipment to the genie. I asked about Sunday ticket deals, said he couldn't offer me anything at that time because of contract issues between the nfl and DTV, and to call back closer to the start of the season. I called back about 3 week ago and told the first person I talked to about the conversation I had in May, he said the initial group of people you talk to can only give you discounts, people in retention have the authority to comp things. He transferred to a girl in the retention department, I told her again about the conversation, she checked and confirmed I had called back in May, put me on hold, came back on the phone and gave me sunday ticket max for free. Last year while still under contract I got a discount, I think it makes a difference if your contract is up or not.

 

I just got off the phone with Directv about Sunday Ticket.

 

1st person I spoke to only gave me $10 off Sunday Ticket price per month over the six months.  I said that was not enough and she said she would need to transfer me to another retention rep for programming discounts. She put through the $10 per month credit.

2nd person said they could not offer any programming discounts so I told them I wanted to not only cancel Sunday Ticket but cancel Directv in total.  She said that she had to transfer me to another rep who handles cancellations.

 

3rd person asked why I was cancelling and I explained my 2 other conversations and she worked her magic as detailed below:

 

Sunday ticket Max for 1/2 price $153.96 total

$10 per month credit for 12 months

$20 one-time credit

Showtime free for 3 months.

I just got off the phone as well, $0 savings on nothing. Zip, zero, nada. They wouldn't/couldn't help me what-so-ever, in fact they were extremely rude and sarcastic to me. I even told them everyone on my favorite message board has scored hundreds of $$$ in savings and other perks, why can't I?!?! The jerk then had the gall to say "for the 8th time Mr. ******  we don't know anything about your DirecTV subscription, this is Comcast." Assholes.

Same thing her shoeless, they offerd nothing as far as savings or anything. Ill just wacth the game on nfl rewind.

I can't believe you tried getting money from Comcast for your DTV subscription.

Ridiculous. Can you call the state agency for really ****ed up cable issues. Every state has one. The one here is called the Wisconsin Department of Charter, Bitches.

I can't believe you tried getting money from Comcast for your DTV subscription.

Would have been awesome if Comcast had sent over a check.
