First year is a fluke
Second year it's an anomaly
Third year it's a coincidence
Fourth year it's a problem
Either the packers have the worst training staff in the league to get these guys ready to play it the worst doctors in the league who say they are ready to play
Someone is at fault here. The team can't lead the league in injuries every single year with out someone to blame. Who is it? Thoughts?
5 more guys last night including three hamstrings and one supposed recovering knee? Seattle not one injury

My guess would be training. The training program has got to be missing something.

Maybe the coaches aren't stressing proper training enough. Maybe players aren't being held accountable.

Seattle started the game missing 5 startes to injurIes. GB was missing 4. Let's wait to see how severe the 5 injuries last night are before firing the trainers.

I'll be interested to hear if Burnett hurt his hammy on the play Seattles OL came flying over the pile and hit Burnett and took a 15 yard penalty. Wasn't long after that Burnett was on the bench.

Harris tweeted this am he doesn't think his knee is bad. Hayward tweeted he's looking for someone to help him wash his car. He may require amputation.

Yeah I didn't think the injuries were all too bad.

You guys were probably all watching the CBS broadcast. They like to dramatize everything and make it seem like everyone who gets hurt is heading to ICU.

Hayward's hamstring injury occurred working out on his own in Georgia IIRC. He re-injured the same one last night but the original injury took place had nothing to do with GB or it's trainers.

Brad Jones being hurt is like breaking news that water is wet. I think he's had one season relatively healthy but it seems this dude has something ailing him at some point in a season.

Burnett played every single defensive snap last season and he's been healthy. Hopefully it's not a major pull and he'll be back on the field.

A bigger issue is that it seems the Packers tend to hang on to injured players longer and don't cut their losses. Sherrod & Quarless come to mind...guys who they are counting on recovering, but have yet to take the field much in the last 2 seasons.

Injuries happen to every one...2010, it didn't matter. Packers found a way to win the Superbowl.

I think certain injuries absolutely cannot be attributed to the training staff:  broken bones, concussions, ligaments/tendon damage.

What I find bothersome is how the medical staff seems to miss the boat at times with rehab/diagnoses/surgeries.  Why didn't Nelson have off-season surgery if his "nerve problem" has bothered him since college?  What about Sherrod's misdiagnosis with his foot/ankle affecting his leg break?

Jordy Nelson admitted the whole "since college" thing was blown out of proportion.  It's something that bothered him at one point in college, and he's tweaked it a couple other times, but it's hardly been a continual thing.

As for Sherrod, there was an article I read about him where they talked to his family.  They said there were somethings they just wouldn't know about until he got back on his feet and walking.  I don't remember the exact details, but I don't necessarily believe there was a misdiagnosis there.

Let's also not forget that the Packers seem to be more cautious about injuries than a lot of other teams.  Who's to say that Hayward and Burnett would not have been back out there if this were a regular season game.

I guess we just have to wait and see.

I commented about that hit in the game day thread - I wonder if the guy gets fined for it. Clearly hitting a defenseless player.

Went back and watched it on Preseason Live. It doesn't look like Burnett was out their for the 2nd defensive series at all and I couldn't find a play where he looked like he was injured on the first series.

If I'm not mistaken, the player that got hit by the flying Seachicken was Hyde.

The Packers aren't the only team with injuries.

Chargers / Niners / Dolphins / Saints / Steelers / Seahawks

All teams that have had players go down for the season or most of the season.

We're not the only ones.

This makes no sense. Why would the Packers "cut their losses" with Sherrod and Quarless before seeing if the players could return and help? Quarless is already back and Sherrod could return later in the season. Plus, they're not making much money, so what's the rush?

Besides. You just know what would happen...

Ted cuts ties with Sherrod. Sherrod continues to work out, gets healthier and signs on with X team who's starting tackle goes down early in the season.

Sherrod fills in, does a stellar job, and becomes X team's starting franchise T for the next 10 years. TT haters come out of the woodwork with their "ZOMG!! Ted you IDOT!! He's never found anyone better then Adrian Klemm" mantra.

Well, we're told that they aren't serious. And, of course, we hope that they're not.

But the truth, as I see it, is that hurtin' hammies and ankle sprains don't heal without rest. Not to mention knees.

And if the players can overcome it enough to play, they're not at a 100%

In 2010 GB had 22 players on IR.  In 2010 GB won the Super Bowl!

Taking your logic to its extreme, somebody ought to kneecap 22 (I thought the actual number of Packers on IR in 2010 was 15, but let's use your number for the sake of argument) Packers and put them on IR.

Somehow I don't think that's a worthy idea.

Why is it whining to ask why the team has been near the top of the league in pulls and strains? Is it blasphemy to wonder if the training is sub-par, or are all medical staffs created equal?

Not certain I get the logic in "cutting ties" with a #1 pick who, in the first year of his contract, severely breaks his leg which requires surgery and then also requires him to miss his entire second season.

The Packers aren't hurting for ca space, and at the moment, aren't hurting for a roster spot.  Put him on PUP, and then re-evaluate when the times comes.  If he may not be able to contribute this year, IR him.  He's still young and can most likely regain the abilities that made him a #1 pick.

Personally, I think this is a good question - not a whine.  What we need is a statistician. Is there one in the house?

Just reading headlines through PFT for the last day or so, there were a ton of injuries in the most recent games played. The Packers are just one of many teams getting hit with the injury bug. So we are not alone in what appears to be a league wide situation this year.
