I hate preseason football. I mean I really, really hate it. What a waste of time and money. Think of all the players hurt this preseason (all over the NFL). I know people go down, it's part of the game, but there's something disheartening when a player is injured in a game that doesn't mean diddly.
http://www.rotoworld.com/teams/injuries/nfl/all/
I would direct your attention to the Redskins, Saints, 49ers, Chargers, Giants, Broncos and Cowboys.
All NFL teams, all with more injuries than the Packers.
Do the Packers have a lot of injuries? You bet. But some teams have even more. And ya know what? IT'S PART OF THE ****ING GAME!
I said that.
Bacteria got hit in the nuts.
In other words:
"He temporarily hurt something that he overcame."
On LT David Bakhtiari playing only one snap: "He temporarily hurt something that he overcame. He was schedule to play in the first series."
Smart man
This week, the Tampa Bay Times had a story with the headline that Nicks and Tynes are "responding well" to treatment. ESPN quoted Buccaneers coach Greg Schiano as saying, "Theyāre responding well" as the team puts a happy face on the story.
Amanda Tynes didn't appear too thrilled about the message being put out by the team.
Amanda Tynes, Lawrence's wife, tweeted a picture of her obviously unhappy husband hooked up to what appears to be his PICC line as he continues to be treated as the NFL season is almost ready to start without him.
I hear my husband is responding "well" to treatment. LOL! He's NOT responding at all yet. This is our #bucslife pic.twitter.com/Gy4z4OcAXA
If it wasn't obvious, the "This is our #buclife" line certainly drips with sarcasm and dissatisfaction. It's not surprising the Tynes family isn't very happy over the situation, especially when the Buccaneers made the cold but understandable move of signing kicker Rian Lindell the same day Tynes was having surgery
Tynes balks at non-football injury designation
Kicker Lawrence Tynes, who has been battling a MRSA infection, was placed on the non-football injury list by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Though he will still receive his salary, he instead said he should be placed on injured reserve because the Buccaneeers are responsible for the injury since he came into contact with the infection at the team's facility. By being on NFI, he does not receive an accrued season toward his pension. Being on injured reserve would count as an accrued season.
"This whole thing is wrong," Tynes told FoxSports.com, per ESPN. "My biggest emphasis is I don't want this to happen to any current or future player. I'm going to fight this thing as long as I have to, because this team should not be allowed to do this to players.''
That's pretty sleazy by the Bucs. Not sure what they gain by doing this to the guy if they still have to pay the salary.
More injuries this season? Yes. Teams already have placed 170 players on IR ā 38 more than at this time in any recent season. Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter)
Biggest concern for today, no Hayward and dinged up Burnett. Hyde has shown skills but he's a rookie and is prone to the torch overtop.
Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Hyde blitz 3-4 times from the slot and put Kappy on the ground.
Hyde plays very similar to Hayward - while he's not a speed demon, he's a physical guy that tackles well and seems to have a nose for the football. His Achilles heal is the throw over the top downfield but he's a perfect slot DB in this defense. Let Shields and Tramon defend the outside boundaries.
Hyde is football player through and through, not just an athlete coached up to play the game. Rookie or not, I'm very comfortable with him on the field against this read option offense. In fact, I expect him to make a few impact plays.
Agreed he's perfect for the slot. I could see the 9ers challenging him with Vernon Davis straight down the seam. Savvy kid but Hayward will be missed.
That's a bad matchup for the Packers in general- defending Vernon Davis. It's interesting though - since Kaepernick arrived at QB they haven't been using him that way (as a primary weapon in the passing game). He's been more of a decoy than anything else but he's capable of having a huge game because he's a big target and can run like a gazelle.
Hyde's an exceptional tackler and against a team like SF that's a big deal. I'm actually more concerned about our ability to stop the run plays than the pass plays especially with Crabtree and Manningham out.
From the Steelers today:
C - Pouncey
LB - Foote
RB - Stephens-Howling
All placed on IR today. Lost for season. McGinns poster child franchise for avoiding injuries?
Burnett - Hamstring
Heyward - Hamstring
Jones - Hamstring
Bush - Hamstring
Kuhn - Hamstring

Maybe some ballet or yoga training would help?
Ending this thread would help.
Mike needs to have them do more math worksheets in the preseason. Combine that with some and and we wouldn't have to worry about concussions.
Interesting observation. I'm virtually certain a member of Mensa has never missed a math bee due to a concussion.
"Massive beating"
When that play occured, it looked like somebody had got hurt bad--the Packers sideline was immediately signaling for the 'Skins training staff.
Love looking at some of the faces/expressions of our players, though! Banjo and the guys to his right are loving it, but that guy immediately in front of Merriwether...
I think that's Morgan Burnett looming over him, and behind him, Hayward is wincing at the pain inflicted by Starks
Starks lowered the BOOM on that one, wow
Favorite is the guy directly behind Burnett. "James Starks. Hmm....you can be one bad mf."
"Massive beating"
The excuse here, of course, is that they played Aaron Rodgers. It wasn't normal Aaron Rodgers, either. It was angry, laser-focused, football-porn creating Aaron Rodgers. So there's an excuse for Week 2 as well.
So it IS a porn-stache he wears sometimes.

I think Burnett is saying, You just got knocked the **** out!
Dashon Goldson got a game suspension for his hit on Sproles. Gotta believe Merri*dickhead*weather gets at least a game.

It wouldn't hurt.
There's always the "Shake Weight".

And not just next week either. He may already be out for next week because of his concussion. So make it the week of the 28th just to be sure he actually has to sit a game he could play in.
Big week for injuries across the league
Reggie Bush has a bum knee, Ray Rice left the game and probably will miss some games, Andre Johnson got concussed, Danny Amendola will be out for several weeks, etc. Those are just a few guys that come to mind but my point is it's not just Green Bay that has players hurt.

Apparently he won't be facing a suspension. Link to NFL.com
"Washington Redskins safety Brandon Merriweather, however, is not expected to be suspwnded for his hit on Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy on Sunday, Rapoport said Monday on NFL Network's "Around the League Live." A fine should be coming. Meriweather hasn't had a similar hit since 2010."

Goldson got flagged twice for head shots in week one already.
