I'm hoping you're right about that YA.......I feel the Pack is losing ground, other teams are peaking, and the Pack is like, well, stinking up the joint.

I think the best scenario ever would be beating the Bears next week and essentially knocking them out of the playoff race only for the Bears to beat the Spermheads in the last game of the season knocking them out of the playoffs.

I know, possibly a wrong phrase, but they sure don't look like Super Bowl contenders yet....or do you think they do?? Just asking. I think there is a LOT of room for improvement and not a lot of weeks to do it yet. Just saying.

Actually, 9er/Hawks loser is #1 wild card. If Viks don't get 2nd WC spot, Rams are next possible.
The Rams' next three games are Seattle, Dallas and SF. They are going to have a lot to say about who makes the playoffs.

Sure they get the first wildcard, but Henry's post suggests the Bears knock Minnesota out of the playoffs, meaning somebody else gets the second wild card. The Rams would have to do well in the last four games to knock Minnesota out.

To quote Al Davis "just win baby" Even if wins aren't pretty it is still a win.
With that in mind the Packers just need to keep taking care of business and that is especially true this weekend. Nothing would be sweeter than to win this game at home and really damage any chance the Bores have of making the playoffs.
All that being said embrace the hate this week. the Bears and their FIB fans.

So they have owned 6 of 10 decades (first two really close) but 3 of the Packers decades more games were played. Pretty amazing how even things are overall with that much history.

I am surprised that the 80's were only 11-7. I would have guessed something more like 15-3.
All these years later I still want revenge for that 61-7 beat down from the Bears.
I am also shocked the Bears/Packers was only 11-7 in the 80's I swear it feels like the Packers never beat the Bears in the 80s.
They had the opportunity in the 55 burger game. They took the high road and let up in the second half or they probably could have scored 70.

I always think the same thing every time I look at that. I think a lot of that has to do with my (and I'd guess many of us) age. Born in 1970, I was getting to be far more into sports right then. And 1983-1992 there was an 18 game stretch where Chicago went 15-3. So just as I was getting more mature and more into fandom, the Ditka era Bears were just beating us all the time, so that was pretty seared into my brain. But, Green Bay won 4 of 5 to start the 1980's and then swept the 89 series, which offsets a bit that 8 game winning streak (and 10 of 11) Chicago had...

Bears have won 3 in a row and 4 of 5 while having some key injuries, they havenât really been blown out much. This is probably going to be a tough game especially based upon how the Packers have been playing. The one thing is that the Bears havenât run the ball particularly well this season which the Packers canât seem to stop the run.
Anyone else notice the Bears are on a long week after not having a short week the week before. Now that is like having a second bye.
Packers had a bye before Whiners game. That really helped.

At the time I remember thinking that perhaps this is the game they finally fire Bart who coached I think three more years.
I am to young to remember Starr the QB but I unfortunately remember Starr the coach. I can still remember the old Bart Starr show in Green Bay that I think aired on Monday nights. After one particularly bad game the only thing Starr had to say positive is showing film of how well David Beverly punted the ball the day before. I swear that's true.
TIMPRANILLO, I think you are right I think it has to do with when you got in to sports. I was born in 66 and the Packers had one good year in 1972 (which I remember but not really well) and then NOTHING really until 1992. Sure a strike shortened playoff appearance and a good year in 89 but that was it really and then a long time with nothing.

5 of those 7 were before 1985 (4 before 1984) and the other 2 were in the Magik season of 1989. Bears won 8 straight (10 out of 11) between there and probably what we all remember from the 80's.
#Packers Matt LaFleur said he watched the #Bears #Cowboys game and said it looked like a dominant performance. Knows Chicago is trending upwards.

Yeah, that '85-'91 stretch was the brutal stretch with only the sweep by the Packers in '89 giving us all a brief rest from the misery of those years. I would have never guessed just how much the Pack would turn the tables on them from '92 onwards. The only sweeps I can remember by the Bears over the Pack since that time were '05 and '07. Maybe there's been more but that's all I can remember. There have been many more sweeps in the other direction.
